Thank you to the whole team at De Hoek, what a magical weekend away to celebrate our 15 year anniversary and also the upcoming birth of our daughter!

Special mention needs to go to every staff member, from the lady who cleaned our room and brought extra biscuits “for the baby”, to the man in the bar who just magically appeared every time we walked in, to the waiting team who professionally served us too many meals and bought me decaf coffee every morning, and finally to the chef and kitchen for making such wonderfully delicious meals from sun up to sun down.

De Hoek deserve every award you have, and more!

You are a credit to the hospitality industry and many others could learn lessons from your professional and friendly service.

Keep it up and I look forward to returning one day soon on a weekend away without child!

A birthday weekend at De Hoek. Simply superb. The house, the accommodation, the grounds and especially the magnificent staff made the stay worth every cent. We felt like royalty.

Any negatives? The bathroom has a huge made-for-two bath, but the geyser apparently doesn't have the capacity to fill it. After being treated so well by the amazing staff in all areas, the lady of the manor didn't deign to even acknowledge me while efficient Henry was preparing my bill. I confess that I felt quite insulted.

Overall, though, I would recommend this wonderful country house to anyone.

The main reception area is cute, the gardens are lovely and the food is good.
The rooms are AWFUL!! They have taken the former magaliesburg hotel rooms that would pass as a 2 star room and have placed a few Charlotte Rhys products, a rose, cheap furniture and are charging the rooms at R3700! I have never been more shocked. The finishes are cheap. The bathrooms were covered in the cheapest tile available. The showers are plastic and cheap. The taps are awful. The bathroom walls are painted with a putred puke colour. The TV is an old medium sized tv. Curtains are awful and cheap. I would rather spend the night in a Formula 1! We had one of the bigger rooms and what a shocker. I went into 2 other rooms and cannot believe how they are ripping people off. They have a good chef but the service is slow. You are lucky to find someone to serve you. The "reception" is vacated most of the day. I had to go into the kitchen twice to order drinks. What a rip off!!!

My husband and i spent one night at De Hoek and it felt as relaxing as a long weekend!
Everything was taken care of, we never had a moment of frustration... only relaxation!!

the staff we friendly and professional, the food was lovely, the area is very picturesque..

I would highly recommended a Thai Yoga massage... my husband and I both booked a 1/2 hour head, neck and back massage and it really helped to shed the stresses of the week!
