Came on the door and luckily got a harbour view room with wonderful balcony, star watching at night is amazing, room is modern & clean, would have liked free WIFI but you can get it below in Bertha's restaurant where we took breakfast of Bacon & egg barmcakes & coffee for around R25 each overlooking the same harbour. Simonstown is a good base, lots to do around and about, you are a short drive from Kalk Bay, good restaurants & bars & Fish Hoek. We loved it here.

This has been my third time staying here. Booked in quite late (9pm) after I could not get accommodation in Kalk Bay. The check-inn went smooth and the room was as always clean and well equipped.
Opt for the sea-facing rooms as the view of the harbour and waterfront is quite beautiful. A charming stay and practical place to explore Simonstown from. Not too expensive but skip optional breakfast which is contracted out and rather discover your own place to eat.
A nice stop-over.

I was somehow nervous about booking this hotel but I guess one's experience depends a lot upon expectations and purpose.
We did not opt for the inclusive breakfast and only needed a room for the night. We weren't really planning to spend a lot of time in the hotel and did not require an especially romantic location.
In the end we were really happily surprised! The room's interior was tastefully done, it was a comfortable, large room with a lovely view over the harbour! We paid the same as for the guesthouse in Stellenbosch, it is much the going rate. We found everything of a good quality and I really don't think this hotel deserves the criticism of many of the reviews. It all depends on what you want! Can you really book the hotel for its location? It is common sense that Simon's town is far from Cape Town CBD!!

We would gladly return there again. Simon's town is beautiful.

Pleasant hotel, but pricey for what you get. Quayside Hotel is a nice little hotel right in the middle of Simons Town, close to restaurants and shops. We opted for a room with a sea view, which was definitely worthwhile. The room was nicely appointed and comfortable, complete with a kettle and refrigerator.  What was missing, considering the price, was free WiFi and breakfast.
