I stayed here on business visiting Riceland in early August 2010. Given its a huge facility, I am sure several travelers may also be going there too. Its on the same street, just a mile or so from the front gate. I have to say my review here is mixed, with nothing really standing out as either grossly intolerable, or extremely favorable. The staff at the front desk are kind and friendly. I was told I got the very last room in the hotel, yet the parking lot was less than 50% full on arrival (making me wonder why I was given a smoking room in this case?) Also Breakfast was sparing: gravy was clearly watered down and so was the apple juice in the dispenser. I think some rough and tumble contractors had the next room over, because he and his lady friend were rather loud till I banged on the wall. Don't get the wrong impression though, it was a clean nicely run place, but I think either the super 8 across the street or the Best western next door might offer more for the same money. I was initially quoted a rate of $110 a night, when the manager asked if he could call be back in an hour. After about 35 minutes, A polite woman took all my information again, and quoted me a rate of $80. Strange. In the end, it was neither bad nor good, so I think I would try a neighboring hotel to see if it was a little better. Not much to eat around the area, so I suggest driving south to main st. or 21st find anything (even no fast food in the area). I was mistaken for a driver when I first arrived. They thought I was from a local bar and grill that ferries guest. I ended up buying groceries for my fridge from the dollar general market on the corner, which also only takes Visa and cash. They don't even take Mastercard.
