Stayed 1 night on the way to Asahidake and the National Park.
Great location right next door to JR station and 1 min from bus stop to Asahidake, Opposite supermarket in the basement of Seibu department store which has a wide range of supplies.
Older style of hotel with big rooms by Japan standard including room for coffee table and chairs.
Carpet was stained but clean. Bathroom was clean with full amenities.
No wifi but free use of iPad in foyer.
Walls were a bit thin so if next room was noisy , this could be a sleep problem.
Given this is usually a 1 night stay on the way to the national park it is great value for 5000 yen/night for 2 people.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The location is excellent as it is connected by a covered corridor with the Asahikawa railway station. The main shopping street is just across the road and the tourist office a few minutes walk. The twin room was quite small and the carpet a bit shabby, but the beds were comfortable. The buffet breakfast had plenty to choose from both Japanese and continental dishes. The front desk staff was very efficient and their english quite good. The room had a free internet connection. All in all a nice hotel and nothing much to complain about.

For 9800JPY with breakfast, 2 pax on 15th Oct 2010 for a double room is cheap. We drove and the carpark is a distance to the hotel. We had to lug our luggages up a few flights of stairs and then through a section of a departmental store to get to the hotel. Had we knew, we wouldnt book this. The poor guy at the recep had to help us with the luggage.

Its dated, room was small with stained carpet and you could smell old furnishings. Breakfast was forgettable. No, I won't be back.

The location of the hotel is unbeatable. It is right next to the JR station.

The hotel itself looked tired. The carpets and elevators were old. My single room was small and old-fashioned, but clean.

I emailed the hotel a couple of times with some questions, and I received the response within 10 minutes!!! Their service was very impressive.

The hotel had its own bus to and from the Asashikawa zoo, which was a great service to the guests.
