“Very Good Hotel for visitors to PETRA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We are a couple in our fifties and the hotel was an excellent choice for us, after arriving in Jordan we stayed 3 nights in MADABA before arriving here. We made the reservation a few weeks before our arrival via internet and stayed for 3 nights in late January 2012. We were welcomed into the hotel with a welcome drink and shown to our room. We stayed on the first floor in a basic but clean room, with a lovely en-suite shower, strong hot water!, brilliant. We had extra blankets and towels available and the host family were very very helpful throuout our stay. Transport to the Petra site was always available and did not cost any extra. WIFI was also available in the reception area and we could even get a signal from our room. Best of all is the evening meal, true 'Home cooking' and plenty of well cooked food and Jordanian sweets, prob the best meals we enjoyed throughout our stay. WE RECOMMEND YOU BOOK THE EVENING MEAL and is reasonably priced at 6 Dinar. Breakfast also is included.
If you book and stay here yourslves we hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.
P.S. PETRA IS AMAZING!!!!!

“reasonable budget hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Basic but clean and friendly. Our main disappointment was noise both inside and outside the hotel. However, as far as budget hotels go it was good. The rooms dont have tv but this meant the guests sociallised more in the reception area (where there is a tv!) Transport down to Petra is readliy and willingly provided (its a long walk especially coming back as its all uphill) Good breakfast and dinner also available which was pleniful and tasty. We linked up with another couple from the hotel and shared a taxi from Wadi Musa to Aqaba. If you arrive in Wadi Musa early evening on a day when there is Petra by candlelight I would throroughly recommend doing this your fist evening. Tickets are available from the hotel.

Room Tip: rooms on the top floor were very cold. we were shown a number of rooms and the staff were very patie...

“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

My wife, two daughters (ages 8 and 10) and I stayed here last winter. The staff was friendly and helpful and particularly good with the kids (even by the relatively high Jordanian standards). The kids particularly liked Mosleh's magic tricks. The transport to and from Petra was fast and convenient. The rooms were very clean and seemed to have been recently updated. My wife and I particularly liked the traditional Jordanian dinner. All the arrangements that Mosleh made for us worked out well. We particularly liked the driver, Caleb, that Mosleh arranged to take us to Madaba. He was a very safe driver and good with the kids.

“wouldn't stay again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

my wife and I arrived at about 9:30pm. Despite having emailed the hotel a week early regarding out arrival, the first thing the front desk guy says is "you should have told us you were arriving so late." He then looked through his book, looked a bit nervous, and then told us "uhh, your room had a leak, we have will have to give you a different smaller room." (They obviously gave our room away to another person, which, from reading other comments, seems to be quite common at this hotel).

We get to the room, it is freezing cold (they only run the heat in the hotel from about 6pm-10pm and it the desert is obviously cold at night). The same front desk guy (the short one) then tells us that because of the room switch he will knock 5JOD off the room per night and throw in breakfast, fair enough. The catch is he wants us to go down on the computer and cancel our Expedia reservation otherwise they will charge him. Seemed a bit shady, especially after what he did early. We then said we wanted to take the car to Petra first thing in the morning (6am). He then argued with us that that time is too early, and that 6:30 is the earliest they would go. Oh, also, the wifi isn't free at all, despite what Expedia said.

So to summarize: rude front desk guy, freezing rooms, shady tactics, far from the Petra park entrance, no free wifi, but fairly cheap hotel. I would NOT recommend or stay here again.

Dear Guest
Thank you for taking the time to write this review about our place and we very sorry if you were unhappy ! But I can smell the anger of the comment you made , if your wife she was unhappy for some reason then you don't have to blame us and put your anger all about our place as we do all in our power to make our guests stay enjoyable and people who read other comments can notice that easily.
First you mentioned that you emailed us week earlier ,sorry but that never happened otherwise we would have ask you to call us on the day of check-in to ensure your booking is confirmed .
Second and that the fact your room has a leak and we didn't come up with that and we left you the other room instead which is a bit smaller than the room you booked and to make it fair we dropped off the price 5 JD as there was no other available rooms. In short we didn't give your room to other people as you mentioned.
About the heating system we turn it on from 6pm till around 1:00am not as you mentioned till 10pm ! Which by the way will be changed by the next months and we will have A/C in the rooms instead .
Regarding the transport to Petra we start 6:00am and we don't have specific time for the shuttle as most of hotels do and when ever our guests are ready to go we will be ready as well. Sorry again but we never ever told any of our guests that we start 6:30 am and 6:00am never too early for us.

Ps Sorry to hear that you find our position far from Petra gates, but it is only one and half kilometre and it does after all offer a fine view across the wadi. ALSO THIS IS YOUR SECOND NEGATIVE REVIEW WITHIN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS !!? the other review posted under ( You get what you pay for ) on 4th Jan .

Thank you again .

“good budget hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

If you are looking for a five star luxury accomodation, well this is not the place.
The place, however, is very good value for money: the room is small but clean with en suite bathroom and no tv. There is no air con and central heating is not always on, so sometimes it can be very cold in the rooms, but not at night when everybody is in.
there is a free shuttle to Petra and on the way back don't pay more than 2 Jordan dinars for a taxi.
Breakfast is acceptable, while they offer a very good dinner for 6 dinars which is much better than what you can get in the local restaurants.
Wireless Internet is available in the common room for 2 dinars.
The general atmosphere there is cosy and the owner is very kind. All in all I enjoyed my stay
