SCAM ALERT!!! This hotel is taking part in a marketing scam for time shares. It is beeing held with the hotel's consent, in their reception area and their facilities. Even the forms you sign during the scam have their logo on it. To let other travellers know, here is what happens: A very "jolly" girl approches you (in our case her name was Jo) in the name of the hotel, telling you that they have a special promotion going on. She targets couples or companies of two. She first tells you that their hotel is great and blah blah blah, and that they even had the prime minister staying there recently. Then she gives the first one a scratch card telling you that you have a chance to win a small gift. She even scratches it her self, revealing that you have won a bottle of wine. To gain your trust, she says that the red wine they offer is crap, so you should order white wine. She then gives the second one a card, scratches it, and starts jumping of joy, saying that she can't belive it... Yes, you have won the star prize... It is either 1000 euros, or a video camera, or a free holiday. Of course, you cannot scratch the part of the card that says what you have one, or the card is not valid... So, the only thing you have to do, is go with her at the reception of the hotel, and sit with a representative of the time share company for 90 minutes, while he tells you all about the company. So, you go to the reception, and there you are greeted by the representative of the company. In our case, his name was Mpampis. He gives you a form to fill out all your personal information, and askes you to confirm that you will sit with him for at least 90 min. After you fill out the forms, he takes you inside and presents the company to you, trying very persitently to sell you time shares. Anyway, when the presentation is finished, it is time to get your prize. So, you scratch the card (and of course, what else would you have won), you have won the free holiday. But (of course), to have the free holiday, you have to become a member and pay a years subscription... What really happens is that the girl always knows to give you a "star prize" card, which always wins "free holidays". In our case, because I know you can't just walk around and win 1000 euros, when the guy Mpampis approched us, before I filled out our personal information, I insisted for more information about what is going on, so I got him to say it is time shares, and the company's name... He mentioned " RCI Holiday " and " Dial an Exchange ". So then, I asked for some time to think about it, and all I had to do is to use my phone and google " RCI Holiday scam " and "dial an exchange scam". I stepped on many interesting things, such as this forum: --
I saw many people in the hotel beeing manipulated by these scammers, so please be aware. It is a shame for the hotel to take part in this, and to scam their guests. BE AWARE OF THEM!!!
