“I travel a lot and can put up with a lot.....But”

3 of us were here in separate rooms for 4 days.
1. The desk clerk had thick black gunk under his fingernails and looked stoned to high heaven. He is responsible on some days of setting up breakfast. I only had coffee and orange juice(which is overly thick on even days and ultra thin on odd days apparently)
2. My TV would fade out sound & picture after being on a few minutes. They replaced it promptly however I'm sure it went to another room.
3. The refrigerator thermostat didn't work so things would freeze up. I didn't complain about this & I was grateful I even had a refrigerator. I just turned it off at night.
4. The bed was comfortable but it only had a sheet and top cover, no blanket.
5. The business center was out of order for the 1st 3 days we were there.
6. The room was quiet, the shower worked fine and they supplied soap and shampoo daily.
7. There was a coffee maker in the room but no glass "pot" or coffee.
8. The hall carpets were filthy in places.
9. The fitness center was worn and dirty, I wanted to use it but didn't feel comfortable
We're coming back to Pine Bluff next week but we're not staying there.
To summarize: this place just plain sucks. LaQuinta execs would faint.

“Don't Be Fooled...THIS IS NOT A FAMILY HOTEL!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2010

This hotel has 3 stars on BING Travel’s site, but only 1 star on Priceline who we booked through. I'm taking the time to post this so others can absolutely avoid this place. We booked two rooms to stay in Pine Bluff for two nights to meet my daughter's future inlaws. I reserved two King rooms with sofa sleepers, but our rooms had only 1 king bed and the sofa sleeper was a CHAIR. When I returned to the desk to ask what happened, I was informed the online sites were "wrong to reserve the requested rooms for that price, and I would have to pay extra to secure the rooms I requested." Not wanting to cause a scene, I decided to switch our rooms to ones with two queen beds, send half of our party to the home of our future inlaws, and the rest of of stayed at the hotel. WHAT A DISASTER :-((((( The faucet in one room was broken and we had to wash our hands in the bathtub. The walls were filthy. The supposed Queen beds were actually doubles and hard as a rock. The next morning, a Sunday, I informed the one front desk person on duty that we could not spend the second night in those rooms and asked to be moved to the rooms I requested and paid for on Priceline. I was told the manager was not available on Sundays but I could move back to the rooms with one king bed and a chair. Meanwhile, in the "free breakfast dining area" there was food... dried up waffle batter and scrambled eggs on the floor. Every table was sticky and dirty. There was no breakfast meat, the juice was watered down, there was very little fruit (two bananas and 4 apples), and the milk was WARM. I called Priceline. After explaining the situation, they informed me they would call the front desk to secure a refund or ask the hotel to provide the rooms I'd paid for and for me to call Priceline back and ask for "Jimmy" in 30 minutes. I called back in 30 minutes. No one knew Jimmy. After explaining the situation all over again, they placed me on hold for 15 minutes to call the front desk. When the Priceline rep returned, she said I could not get a refund, and I could not get the rooms I reserved because it was a Sunday and the owner was not available. I asked for them to help me to secure rooms at another hotel. I was informed they could not. I told them I would contact them on my return to Texas and hung up. Finally, my husband had to go down to the desk to demand that we be moved to the rooms we requested on Priceline. The front desk clerk finally complied. The "luxury suites" we're two regular rooms with a huge arched opening between. No door...no privacy. There were no smoke detectors, only hanging wires where they had been. The rooms were somewhat cleaner, but by then we were leery of the whole place. The tv in one of the rooms did not work. The touchtone phone in the other room had no dial face. And the issue that made the this whole scene a complete FAILURE was the door to one of the rooms that WOULD NOT LOCK. What more can I say? There are other hotels in this area near the mall....good luck to you who must visit this area.

“Not fancy but better than average for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2010

The girl at the check in was very friendly and helpful. The entire motel appeared to be very clean. The hallways were hoovered and the room was quite clean. Someone left empty pop cans in the elevator, but they weren't there when we arrived, and we're pretty sure the slobs who left them there were down the hall from us. They were gone when we got up the next morning.

The beds were VERY comfortable. I got a very good nights rest and I thank them for providing extra pillows.

For a continental breakfast it was decent. There was a waffle maker that my daughter used and there were hot biscuits, gravy and eggs. I just like toast and juice and there was plenty of that. There were lots of tables in the breakfast area so you didn't feel rushed to clear out. There was a rather unfriendly lady keeping the area clean and tidy. I guess she didn't need to be chatty. She did do a very good job of keeping things filled and spills wiped.

“Depends on what is important to you.....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2010

Oh dear! Positives first, I guess ~ the room was clean and the clerk was very helpful and friendly ~ you know the first disappointment we over looked ~ worked all day and very hot and looked forward to the pool ~ it was green ~ "okay" ... the carpet is stained somethin awful, but it wasn't sticky ~ the air conditioner didn't work properly, but we had a fan ... "okay" BUT the TV ~ if it did come on it had no sound, or would be on a few minutes and then fade to static ~ grrrr! the clerk did her best to rectify this, but to no avail ~ BUT got in the shower in the curtain was stained with mold! UGH!! Too much! Already "fit to be tied" and the internet was down all morning before we left ~ we are working and need the internet! Should not have depended on LaQuinta's name only! So it's up to you ~

“Suited my purpose”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2010

We spent 3 night at La Quinta while attending a conference. We needed clean, convenient, affordable lodging which included a refrigerator & microwave. All of those needs were met. On the downside: the hallways were not clean and the side security door would not lock. When I brought this to the attention of the desk clerk on duty she didn't seem to think it was important.
