I liked this Hampton Inn. It was very clean and comfortable. There were only two problems, though neither of them were very bad. The first was that our bathroom door would not close all the way. Second, the side entry door to the hotel would not open from the outside, even after we tried the key 10 times. So, one of us would have to go around to the front door and open the side door for the rest of us. Other than that it was a great stay.

A good clean recent remodel Hampton, big flatscreen good staff, convenient to the north side of the river, accesible only from southbound access road.

One weekend night with family. Hotel seemed fairly busy with crowd at breakfast, where seating was not really adequate at the time we were there (a few people had to stand, but only briefly). The breakfast staff folks were moving fairly quickly to keep the food supplied (though one took the entire basket of coffee creamers to refill while I was standing there using them - done within a couple of minutes but still a bit of a surprise as they disappeared before my eyes). Single elevator - noticeable in the morning when more activity, but fine in the evening. Room smelled "odd" when we arrived, possibly of cleaning solution, but didn't last long and room was clean. Fridge was present, not noisy at all (as others had mentioned for their rooms), but there was no microwave in the room despite this being listed on our reservation. Interestingly, the rooms available had 2 types of Queen Nonsmoking: one with microwave listed and one without. I did specifically choose the one with microwave, but the room didn't have it. It turned out not to be a big need for us to actually have the microwave, so we didn't inquire further. Nice big flat screen TV, but no ability to hook a portable DVD to it (connections are present, but seemed to need a different remote control). No problems with noise. Location on McCain Blvd confusing (one way with multiple access points to main highway), but hotel directions provided were helpful. Lots of restaurants/shopping/mall area nearby.

Very convenient to I-40 and I-30, and close to a number of nice dining establishments. We planned to attend a minor league baseball game (about 10 minutes away), and the desk person was extremely helpful in telling us about some nice restaurants within a block of the ballfield. We followed her advice and were very pleased with the experience. This place is very clean and quiet, and the customary Hampton breakfast was nicely prepared.
