“Must have forgot wall insulation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

I stayed here two nights. Regarding appearance, it is your typical H.I. Express that if fairly new with a decent lobby, breakfast area, parking, and room accomodations. It was clean, no noticeable odors. The location is in somewhat of a seedy part of town, although there are nice restaurants and stores nearby. The outside noise is not too bad except for a sweeper cleaning the parking lot of the Lowe's next door in the middle of the night; however, that might not be a problem on the west side of the hotel. Most of the noise comes from INSIDE the building. They walls apparently are not insulated because you can hear EVERYTHING from the rooms next to you. From what was going on in the room next to me, I am so glad I did not have my children with me. It did'nt keep me awake, but certainly was noticeable. I was on the top floor, so I don't know about the ceiling noise. I don't want to knock the place too bad. You may stay here and not think anything of it. I didn't notice any of this at the H.I. Express by the airport. The neighborhood there was better, but I didn't see many restaurants or stores around.

Room Tip: Stay on the west side of the building to escape the noise from the parking lot sweeper next door on...

Dear MORockwood,

We appreciate your feedback, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. The best way for us to improve our hotel is to read honest and accurate guest comments. I am so very sorry that your experience with us was not what you expected.

Unfortunately, we do have some problems with the noise level within the hotel. We do space each guest out when at all possible. The only time that is not possible is during high occupancy nights. We do, however, enforce a quiet policy after 9:00pm and encourage you to contact the front desk if you experience this again during a stay with us.

If you would like to contact me directly in order to discuss the details of your stay further, I would really appreciate to opportunity to speak with you.
Again, Thank you for your feedback and for the time you took to share ways we can improve.

“Short and Sweet”

We stayed here while traveling from Tennessee to Oklahoma for Christmas. Our goal was to make it as far as possible so that our drive the next day would be shorter. Around midnight we decided to stop in North Little Rock. I found a great price on Hotwire and ended up with this hotel. It looked new from the outside and check-in went smoothly. Once we entered the room we were impressed with the spacious size. Everything was clean and the king-size bed was comfortable. In the morning there was only one other person at the free breakfast, so I enjoyed not having to mess with a crowd like you find at many places. All in all we were there a short time, but it met our needs and we would stay again.

Dear uthguyzig,

We appreciate your feedback, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. The best way for us to improve our hotel is to read honest and accurate guest comments. I am happy to hear you had a pleasant stay with us. Ms. Betty, our breakfast attendant, has some of the highest guest service scores in the region and does a wonderful job at keeping the crowds flowing in the morning. Please feel free to contact me directly if you are in the area again and I will personally make sure your stay is just as great!

Again, Thank you for your feedback and for the time you took to share your experience.

“Thin Walls”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Recent multi-night stay here and right away noticed how I could easily hear the conversations from next door. My travelling companions also had the same complaint from their rooms as well.
The hotel was clean, although it has a weird glass entry on the 1st and 2nd floors that seemed sort of institutional.
the Wifi was also very slow during my entire stay.
The workout room is laughable and probably needs to be turned into a broom closet because that's about how big it is. They shouldn't even bother with a workout room.

One good point was the breakfast which was fresh and like most Holiday Inn Express', several items to choose from.
Also the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of.

“New and nice but with thin walls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

This Holiday Inn Express Hotel appears to be brand new. The room was notably well designed and everything was clean. The personnel were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet offered a fairly generous offering of food including cereals, cinnamon rolls, muffins and bagels, eggs, yogurt, and fruit. It was impressive enough that we chose to stay a second night, but the roster of guests changed and the walls were not insulated sufficiently to keep out the loud noises that began in the wee hours of the morning. The town of Maumelle nearby offered a few choices for dinner, though it required a short drive to reach there. The sports bar recommended by the hotel staff (and advertised on the room key) appeared to be noisy, so we opted for an Italian restaurant with fairly basic decor that turned out nevertheless to serve a nice meal. A pleasant place to stay if you have quiet fellow travelers.

Room Tip: We got a good rate by using one of the coupon books available at the interstate rest areas.

“comfortable and accommodating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

My family of four stayed at this hotel for one night on a road trip. We arrived around midnight to check into our reserved room. It was a nonsmoking room, but as soon as we opened the door it smelled like smoke. So we went back downstairs and asked for a different room, explaining the situation. The desk clerk was very nice and quickly gave us a new room assignment. This time, on the third floor, the hallway smelled strongly of smoke, but our room did not, so we stayed.

We always check for bed bugs before unpacking the car, and we did not find any evidence of them. The room was clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable.

The breakfast was okay, exactly what you would expect. The eggs were good, not rubbery as they sometimes are at breakfast bars. They had scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, instant oatmeal, yogurt, lots of breads, including french toast, and bananas. Also coffee, tea, milk, and juice.

The staff was friendly. The location is not directly off the freeway, so use google maps to make sure you can find it.

We would stay again.
