“Amazing Staff”

I stayed in mountain home this past week and I had my dog Jack with me. The staff was so good to us. Everyone loved Jack and played with him. I could tell the folks were real animal lovers and that means alot to me. I know now that the holiday inn is defiantly where I will stay on future visits.

“Horrible customer service”

This is the second time this summer that the Holiday Inn Express has messed up our reservations. After being told that I did not, in fact, have a suite I asked for a roll away for my four year. I was told that was not available either. When asked how the situation could be remedied, I was YELLED at by the desk clerk that "it wasn't her problem"! After walking next door to the Hampton and finding no rooms available, I had to return the Holiday Inn. I found the young lady on the phone with her manager and shockingly, a suite had in fact become available after all. I am not sure about the miscommunication that seemed to happen here but I was not impressed by how I was treated as a guest. I have stayed in many superior hotels in my day and have never been treated so rudely.

We at the Holiday Inn Express apologize for the poor service you and your family received while staying at our hotel. I was very distressed after reading your comments and understand that you also had a problem with another hotel in our chain. Please contact me if you plan another stay in our area and I will see to your stay personally. We strive to be a family friendly hotel chain and again I apologize for your experience. Sincerely, Shelly Hughes

“Cozy, Clean Hotel”

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Mountain Home for Thanksgiving 2007. We arrived very late (after midnight) but we had no problems at all checking in. Despite other complaints on tripadvisor, we had no issues with accessing the FREE wireless internet. The breakfast was excellent, although due to the holiday there wasn't enough seating. The room was huge, bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was sparkling clean. I think the hotel is maybe 5 years old, but it still looks brand new.

  • Liked — clean, excellent free breakfast, free internet
  • Disliked — our 1st floor room was a little noisy

“Very nice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2007

We usually stay at a Hilton - Hampton Inn & Suites are generally our choice for cleanliness & comfort. They are usually priced over local hotels, but we've been able to count on them. We chose this hotel for lack of a Hilton.

We got the suite with a refrigerator & microwave - it was extremely large. At the AAA rate, it was a good deal compared to larger cities like St. Louis and Phoenix.

We were pleasantly surprised. It was everything we look for --clean, comfortable, pleasant staff, free internet, free parking, good breakfast, laundry facility, & a fitness room (small, but adequate). They had an outdoor pool and spa - we didn't use them, but the water looked clean and they had sun most of the day for the sun worshippers.

We stayed on the third (top) floor in a non-smoking room (another review said these were all smoking - not so at this time). Couldn't hear noise from other rooms or the hall.

Another review mentioned poor internet - we didn't have that experience. Not as fast as at home, but nothing that made us want to pull out our hair.

The breakfast featured a couple hot items each day along with their "as advertised" cinnamon rolls (my boyfriend couldn't get enough of them). The cheese blintze and bacon were good - cooked just right for me.

We tried a Holiday Inn Express & Suites in the next town (Hot Springs, AR) we stayed in and were sadly disappointed. We did a review on that one also.

  • Disliked — can't think of anything

“good value”

We spent one night at this motel. It was much better than I expected from a small town motel. It was very clean and, suprisingly, the room even smelled of fresh laundry when we walked in (unlike the usual stale motel room smell). The room was nicely decorated and was equipped with above average linens. The continental breakfast was also above average.
