Casa Serena is located justed far enough away from the bustle of Sosua to make us feel like locals. Host Richard made us feel so welcome, and provided insights into the country we would have missed if we'd stayed at a big beach resort.
Our quiet comfortable room overlooked the large pool, perfect for our morning and afternoon dips. Resident dogs wagged their welcome. Breakfasts were delicious, served on the lanai overlooking the tropical garden,
We visited the Museo MUNDO KING - an eclectic collection of Haitian art, not to be missed.
Our stay was short - just two days - but perfectly relaxing. We arrived as guests and left as friends.

Richard took excellent care of us on our three or four nights stay, including great local coffee in the mornings.

Beautiful round rooms, smashing breakfasts, secluded enough from the hubbub of Sosua without being isolated, excellent pool, four dogs keeping an eye on things, great views from balconies, highly recommended!!!!

Casa Serena was all that we had hoped for and more. We cannot praise it too highly. Our room was over looking the pool. It was simple. very clean and tastefully decorated. The pool is scrupulously clean and the gardens are lovely.

Wonderful breakfasts were included.

Richard and Richi are marvelous hosts. They gave us a lot of information about Sosua and surrounding areas which made our trip much more enjoyable. They have lived in Sosua for five years and were able to advise us and to recommend the best of the local and international restaurants.

We had no problems walking to the beach and using moto taxis and the local busses. They are both easy to use and Richard and Richi were very helpful with their advice.

We are a middle aged couple and have travelled all over the world. Mostly we have stayed in guesthouses. Casa Serena is without a doubt the best bed and breakfast experience that we have had.

We just returned from a week at the Casa Serena. Such a lovely house, gardens and pool. Richie and Richard are just great hosts and treat everyone like family, maybe even better than family. We have done much traveling and were very impressed with how clean and comfortable the rooms were. This is THE PLACE TO STAY in the Sosuo/Puerta Plata area. Look no further.
