“Great place, great hosts!”

Cabarete was supposed to be a stop on our tour of the North Coast. After five days at our first location (an amazing little hostel tucked back away from the strip), we decided we didn't want to leave the town, but wanted a shorter walk (we were traveling with a child). William had handed us a card, so I got in touch with him and they put us up in a cozy room, right off the front-facing balcony. Warm water, great maid service, pool, and a good location. Plus, the hosts are very kind and welcoming! Even for a "budget" hotel, it exceeded our expectations. I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: They have all of their rooms listed on their site -- they seem to have a size for everyone's nee...

Thanks for staying with us! We have been so blessed with many great guests! In the past month we have had to send people to other hotels so book early if possible. And even if it is short notice check with us as we may have space!

“Good value”

Although hosts were away when I came, they arranged for another guest to meet me. Single room was a bit spartan (toilet and shower stall in same room) and small but served my purposes . Maid very accommodating for guests that sleep in. Very good and fast WiFi. Hosts very responsive to problems - shower knob falling off, leaking roof. Right next to a supermarket. Has swimming pool and nice cafe. Be wary of swimming right in front of hotel - has bad current. But a short walk will take you into inner Cabarete and its fine beach. All for $20/night.

Room Tip: If you plan on spending a long time in your room, choose a suite. Single rooms are too small and spa...

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Room 2 is a smaller one person room with a fridge and computer desk. Best value for single travelers in Cabarete at $20 a night.

“Really homely hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

I originally booked two weeks in Hotel Casa Blanca, as I was visiting friends in Cabarete and intended to tour the rest of the country. But I enjoyed the place so much I ended up staying for my whole three week holiday.

The studios (I stayed in two) are really lovely, airey, bright and spacious, with cable TV and views of the pool. Extremely clean too, and enjoyed practicing my Spanish with the Dominican staff. It was lovely to have a nice room to relax in during a few heavy rain showers. Not to mention free wi-fi in all the rooms.

The entire vibe is really homely. Owners William and Dorothy are welcoming (without being in your face) and as there is no reception area guests tend to gravitate towards their studio for information about the hotel and Cabarete. They've been living there for eight years I think and love swapping stories about experiences, as well as getting feedback from their customers. William in particular has a good sense of humour and it's clear he loves his new life after leaving Canada behind!

There are few enough rooms for guests to get to know each other fairly well and the pool is as good as it looks in the photos, while the beach is only a five minute walk away. I was particularly happy with the location, at the quiet end of town but still just a ten minute walk from all the action.

The only thing the place misses really is maybe a 'common area' or cafe where guests could mingle a bit more, as the Claro cafe at the front of the hotel is a separate business.

The bottom line is that I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Studio rooms are worth the extra few dollars as they seemed much nicer than the really basic rooms...

“Best Wifi & Best Cafe in Cabarete”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

For the price, you won't find anything better in Cabarete. At any price, you're unlikely to find better wifi (two wireless connections, and if you get a room in the middle of the hotel, you'll have both, important for when one connection goes out for 10-15 minutes, as always happens in Cabarete; unfortunately the connection is not as good in some of the studios). You won't find a better cafe (unfortunately only open 8am-2pm), though you don't have to be a guest to eat there. The pancakes are amazing and they have vegetarian food, too. Highlights of this hotel are very small but immaculately clean rooms and very small but beautifully landscaped grounds. It is far enough from the one very loud bar at the center of Cabarete that you can sleep before 1 am if you wanted to. Note that this is a very small hotel, really more of a guesthouse, and the couple who owns it lives on premises. It is a 5-minute walk from the beach and you can hear the ocean at night, but it is NOT on the beach and there are no ocean views.

Room Tip: Make sure to specify if you want A/C and/or a good wifi connection.

First of all, thanks for staying with us and for the great review. We would like to note that you did stay in the smallest one person room which is $20 per night. The other 2 person rooms are larger and the studios have even more space. Room 7 has really great ocean views from it's own private terrace, It has views of the sunrise over the ocean and the sun set over the mountains, very romantic!
