A stay in Cabarete, for those seeking a secure, and, quite, inexpensive room, in cabarete. Opting not to stay with family, my companion and did some serious research which lead us the most undesirable, loud, unclean, and expensive hotel in cabarete. we stayed one night had a lousy fight, awoke and ran like hell, in search for a place on a weekend, with bags intow. After spending the day in the exhausting carribean heat, bags in tow, bitter, hot, and one of us clearly decides to ignore all warning of dont drink the water and ... drinks the water while the other was not around... so imagine this someone in a strong need of immodium, nearly sundown we finally come across our last place for inquiry Caribe Surf. ... Tucked in a plush small road entering the beach greeted by blossoming flowers, a pool glimmering to your right the hotel rises about 3 floors, with balconies facing either, tropical greens, or both ocean if you get the topleft rooms. The area is mixed residential and rentals. At our last minute walk in on a Saturday eve. we certainly did not expect to find anything cheap, but Caribe Surf proved us wrong. They were also willing to accept American Dollars, which saved us the extra walk to find any exchange place... which you wont have any problems finding in this area. There is a supermarket up the small road towards the left , and the whole strip is lined up with various commercial establishments. The owner was quite friendly and assisting to our many questions on further exploring the back woods of various points on the north of the Island, restaurants reccomendations, beach, rentals, and anything that came to mind. The Caribe Surf is situated within large mango, orange, and lemon trees, the area is mosquito infested. If you are allergic to mosquito bites, then dont read anymore, stay away. Just walking towards the hotel may be damaging, but then again it's the Carribeans thats is expected. It get's hot. Real hot. But the fans for those whom can do without a AC in the rooms are ok. The rooms are cleans, just make sure they are expecting you. As I mentioned we literally walked up to the place b y chance.
We decide to further explore the North end of the island and evacuate the Easter festivities in Cabarete via moped, without our bags. The owner made us feel 100 percent certain that our bags left in his place would be just fine, and he even allowed us to check out and check bag in upon our return, suggested places to ride out to, and even directions to Limon and Las Terrena. IF THAT IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS BEST i DON'T KNOW WHAT IS. Caribe surf perfect for the budget minded traveler. No frills, Single, couple, and or groups.
