“Discount hotel in every sense”

We stayed here 7 days. The hotel is VERY worn down -definitely NOT 4 star. The hotel was not really clean. The all inclusive deal is a disgrace the two restaurants and the whole sister hotel (Casa laguna) was closed.
Several of the others staying at the hotel at the same time was outraged by the low value for money in particular 'ALL INCL deal'. We were a bit prepared from tripadvisors mixed reviews.
There are 10-15 amazing restaurant next door on the beach in the evening- Absolutely the best to go there to eat and get drinks, Romantic and something for party people. But highly recommended eventhoug it is almost european price level. If you stay here please do so in order to use the restaurants and bars and enjoy life while you sleep in an ok perhaps 2 star hotel room, but ok. Then you will not be disappointed, and the beach and town is a great place to enjoy life :-()

“Tropical Casa Laguna”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2010

Hotel is located near the beach which is a good thing since the swimming pool on the beach side is not that great. The pool on the other side of the hotel (hotel has two locations, one at the beach on on the other side of the road) is big and clean. Rooms are not that big but oke for 2 people since it fits 2 singles beds and a closet easily. We booked All Inclusive however I really cannot recommend this since the buffet is small and the food is not good for a resort which offers All Inclusive. That is also the reason why we went to restaurants 9 out of 10 times. So I can recommend the hotel however I suggest you book Bed and Breakfast only.

The country is a tropical destination where a lot of tours are organised. Plenty of fun and outdoor excursions.

“Very good hotel for the price! Do some excursions and see something of this beautiful country!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 March 2010

We never had an all inclusive vacation before so we can’t compare anything.
We stayed in the garden part of the complex on the other side from the road.
When we arrived we got a room next to the pool, it was a dirty room and the toilet doesn’t worked.
We went to the reception and the next day we got a new room, it was much bigger and cleaner, it was very nice.
The food was nice, but for two weeks it is much to same. We went to a restaurant on the Beach a few times.
The cocktails were very nice especially the banana mama!!!!
The Beach was beautiful and very hot! The pool was beautiful and big, the entertainment Group was sometimes
Very pushing to do some activities with them, but when you say no a few times they don’t come to bother you any more.
We did several excursions and we have seen a lot of the country.
We did a day trip to Haiti, very beautiful and impressive, a long day buth worth it! We also did a day trip horse riding through the Mountains with uncle bob, very nice!!
Further we did the waterfall excursion, we climbed 7 levels and swim there, beautiful! We also a trip to Paradise Island, what a beautiful place, we arrived there with the First Group, there was nobody on the island, later it became crowded, then we went with the boat through the mangroves and had a dinner on a local Beach, beautiful!
We also did a day trip on haiti and saw some local villages, made sigars, and went to a rum fabric, very nice!
So we didn’t spent a lot of time at the resort, but when we asked something they were very helpfull!
So if you want a nice holiday and you don’t want to stay at a 5 star hotel, we can recommend you this hotel!

“fab hol”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2010

It was last week that we arrived home and i'm gutted this holiday was the best of my life.
i went with my boyfriend and after reading some reviews we were abit worried! but i have to say there was no need we enjoyed everything about it and we will deffo go again.
our hotel was 3* but we would rate it more like 4*, people said the food was abit repetative but we had no complaints i am a fussy eater and there was never an occasion were i didnt like anything. it was great going all inclusive but we did go out to a bar called jose o'shays that was boss and their cocktails are lovely, and if your a sports fan they have loads on there.
when your relaxing on the beach you do get the ";lucky lucky men"; trying to sell you things but a polite no gracias and their on their way,we even made friends with one of them they are just really trying to do their job.

i would mainly recommend this holiday for couples because it was so romantic walking down the beach at night. i really really really love this place and if you are thinking of going to the tropical beach club then its worth paying the extra for the superior rooms which are located on the beach side,it was lovely to wake up open your curtains and look onto the gorgeous beach.the sea is boss because of the atlantic ocean there are big waves and their fun to dive in but if you have kids i wouldnt let them go in the waves on their own as they can pull you under.
we went on 3 trips;
ocean world-the best experience of my life, swimming with dolphins was amazing and we also done the sealion encounter i cant describe how fab it is, you will just have to try it!!

monster truck safari-you go to the jungle and see how the people live it is sad because reality hits you and you realise how lucky you are.you can take stationary or sweets to give to the school there.

paradise island-we have never seen anything like it, the island is magical the waters are pure blue and the sand pure white. you can go snorkelling and you see all these fish called sergent major fish (they are the stripy ones which are nosy hahaha)

honestly this holiday was the best experience of are lives and i felt like crying when we were leaving! if anyone goes there if you bump into a ";lucky lucky"; man with number 32 on his top say katie n kev from liverpool say hi.
