I stayed in this hotel a few years ago. Anne Marie and her staff at the time were wonderful. I rented a room for a month a she did everything imaginable to make my stay comfortable. (Fridge, Mini stove, Water jugs) The place is on the edge of Cabarete. You can walk to the 'bakery' and Kite Beach in less than five minutes. Moto Concho (Motorcycle Taxi) to El Enquentro in ten minutes and by taxi to Puerto Plata and Playa Grande in 30-45 give or take... Oh yeah, the grounds keeper Juan does a great job of keeping coconuts picked off the palms so you don't have to worry about getting killed by one falling while you lay by the pool!

I enjoy staying at comfortable, reasonably-priced hotels wherever I am, and this hotel surely fit the bill. It's right off the main road going into Cabarete from Puerto Plata, but it's set far enough back to where all the noise of the traffic doesn't disturb the peaceful experience at the hotel. The room was very airy (room door was actually a 4-pane shutter type door that could be accordion-opened) and had a fan, so even in the hot climate, the room was pleasant. All of the staff was friendly and courteous, and it was clean as well. The pool was great, the bar had cold Presidente, and I would certainly recommend anyone stay here that likes saving a few bucks on accommodations, and isn't looking for the white glove service of upscale hotels. During my stay in March 2008, it was $45/night

Cabarete is noisy. We walked in Albatros and immediately we felt it was quiet. It is close to everything in Cabarete. No need for a car.

We were two couples with a teenager and had a 2-floor apartment. It was very private with each couple having their own bedroom and bathroom on the second floor and our son sleeping downstairs in a Murphy bed. The apartment was in a beautiful large garden in the middle of the crazy town of Cabarete. It was quiet and in the mornings we would wake up to the sound of the birds. The swimming pool was lovely and well maintained. We felt like being at home with a nice cleaning lady coming in each day.
