“Worst hotel ever.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

I'm not that much into reviewing but this place its so bad that some one has to prevent anyone else from staying here.
First the elevator can barely fit my stroller, so if you come with a large group count on several trips to bring all your people down.
The rooms are tiny, i mean New York tiny or Europe tiny, you can actually use the toilet while taking a shower at the same time. Rooms are old and nasty i brought my two little ones and wouldn't allow them to play on the floor.
The tv works but the remote control is nowhere t be found, so i called the front desk and ask for a remote control which i got fairly fast the only problem is that it didn't work so no channel surfing for me.
The cabinets on the v stand wouldn't close, so in such a tiny room is a problem because they would block the way towards he back of the room.
The AC... broken, it would turn on but there were no air coming out of the ducts so the air compressor would actually heat the room! Actually there is a standing fan in the room which means that they have no intention on fixing it any day soon.
So, to wrap it up, stay away, actually its much better to stay in a no tell motel than staying here, the personal is friendly and they look actually embarrassed of the short comings of the installations.
Bad for the IHC group, definitely one of your worst locations.

Room Tip: in order to get the best room go somewhere else!

“Below minimum standards of Holiday Inn”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2011

This Holiday Inn franchise doesn't meet the minimum standards that Holiday Inn hotels try to have internationally.
Rooms are poorly maintained and outdated, and hallways have carpets in bad shape.
I was disappointed at this hotel.

“A Sad Place In Need of Some TLC”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 April 2011

This is the first negative review I've ever posted on TA. I generally walk away from poor hotels and shrug them off. But since I seldom if ever stay in Gringo chain hotels in Mexico, I just had to post something here to reinforce my opinion that they are a waste of experience and money.

The place could be a shining gem of a hotel and probably was when it opoened. The lobby remains Grand in an echoey sort of way. But the broken tiles in the small elevator, the wrinkled and worn hallway carpetting, the scraped reflective film on the windows... all amount ot a hotel well on it's way to decline. But the price still is stuck at Gringo levels.

The catalyst to writing this review was the air conditioning was not working in either of the 2 rooms I booked for myself and work partner. The hotels answer was not to give us another room but was to roll large portable air conditioners into the rooms and vent them to the hall through the open door. As they sounded like a herd of vacuum cleaners in a library, the machines had to be turned off and the door closed for sleeping. The rooms turned into magma chambers within hours.

Any discount on checkout? Any offers of a free return when the a/c worked? Ummm...no.

Breakfast was expensive and we could not sign it to the room. I signed the bill and 10 minutes later the young waiter was knocking at my door asking politely for payment.

All in all...I rank it as one of poorest stays I can remember in 30 years of travel. And I'm not fussy. I just want a good sleep at a good price.

So...stay here if you want to help the owner with revenue to fix the place up. Or avoid it and get a good sleep and leave some cash in your wallet

“Lobby great but rooms awful”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 February 2010

You would think it could be a nice hotel from looking at the lobby. It is nice and looks fun. But the rooms ruin this place. There is also no gym, I rented a suite and was very disappointed. First you could hear the next room easily. One room they gave us smelled like a sewer was leaking in the room. The bathrooms had no doors so basically you had a clear view of who ever was in the shower and the toilet stall offered minimal privacy. I would not stay there again. The people who worked there tried hard and were nice but the owners of this place really need to take care of rooms. They are a disaster.

“Good Solid Hotel, near Stadium”

Purpose of the trip was to watch a Pachuca soccer match at Estadio Hidalgo. This is the closet hotel. Clean hotel with good service. Could be a little less, but there isnt many choices in Pachuca. Also the only hotel with an indoor pool.
