This is a nice hotel with a friendly staff.
It is organized in a somewhat special way. There is a big name plate at the entrance on the ground floor, but that is the entrance to the office building this hotel is located in. The lobby and check-in/check-out counter are on the 5-th floor. This is also where the hotel restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner can be found.
The rooms start at the 23-rd floor and go all the way up to the 41-th floor. The top floor has a bar. The 3-rd floor has several speciality restaurants including a Japanese, Cantonese and Shanghai restaurant.
The room was small, but functional and complete. The bathroom was nice, especially the separate shower with a rain shower.
There are several movie channels, including HBO, showing English movies with Chinese subtitles.
The room interior appeared a little outdated however and the location of power outlets is not very convenient if you need to have several electronic gadgets charged.
The complimentary wired internet connection was sufficiently fast and did not need any special set up. I only needed to plug in the cable to get a connection. The desk chair is not suitable for extended work at the desk though. It is a simple chair which can not be adjusted. A true office chair would be more appropriate for this class of hotel.
I may have had bad luck, but in my room the air conditioning did not work. I could only get it to blow warm air. Since the room was small, it did get warm. I didn't inform the hotel staff though and given their excellent service I'm sure it would have been addressed if I had brought it up.
The breakfast provided very good value for the money. There was an extensive choice of hot and cold food, both from Asia and Europe/US, plus eggs cooked to order. A special word of praise goes to the pastry made by a French cook. I can definitely recommend these and the croissants and French bread in particular.
The one thing I was disappointed at was the price of the coffee in the SPR coffee shop located in the lobby. They charge 58 RMB for a medium sized latte. The regular rate for a venti latte is 31 RMB so this price is way too high in my opinion.
Overall a nice hotel though and I enjoyed my stay.
