“A wonderful summer vacation without spending much”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2010

We spent a wonderful vacation in Vime Lido resort. As we didn't know Tunisia at all we were simply looking for some information on the net till we bumped into last minute travel which offered the family bungalow in Vime Lido resort for a very attractive price, so we booked it without really knowing whether it's good or bad. We took the chance…Luckily we chose well, the children really enjoyed themselves. The food was fantastic, the beach was lovely and we all had a wonderful summer vacation without spending much.

“FLIES... FLIES... FLIES... FLIES... FLIES...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2008

When booking the holiday.. basing our decision on the reviews we were really looking forward to it as we thought we had found a really lovely hotel; however....

On arriving in Nabuel the local area is very very run down. There is NOTHING to do. As we evntually found the hotel (as the transfer man didnt have a clue where he was going), from the outside it looks nice. Yoiu then enter a manky brown wishey washey reception where the small man greets you with a drink of manky orange juice which has flies in... (thats just the start of the fly concocions..)
The rooms that looked lovely in the pics were very basic... two single beds together, the plug sockets hanging off the walls and the bathroom looked like it hadnt been cleaned for a year.

For the size of the hotel, the pool is very small in camparison, luckily going in september the hotel wasnt that busy, god knows if we would of got a sunbed when the hotel was full. When sunbathin I recommend you have a fly swatter attached to every arm and leg as you will need to swat the ten billion flies that try to eat you. The so called spa... is more like an empty room with a dirty pool that isnt very big and each massage room covered inn flies, dont quite no how u r meant to relax in there....

The waiters in the restaurants are very very very grumpy and rude. Mostly having arguments with each other if another waiter sits you in the other waiters space. The pool bar staff are very friendly and liked the english, which was rare as the hotel is mostly dutch, german and polish guests.

The food was ok.. if u like chips, chicken, fish and spaghetti every lunch and dinner for the whole week then you would love it!! Although you will be attacked by flies... all over you and your food... this is VERY VERY annoying and will def start to wind you up after the first... 10 MINS!!!

Animation team was enthusiastic and tried there hardest to get everyone involved.. during the day this can be a bit annoyin as they are bugging you a bit but they did it in a friendly way and they knew not to go to far. The evening shows were good and entertaining, with good audience participation.

The beach was lovely too!

Overall I wouldnt recommend it; however if you have booked it. dont go with high expectations and you will be fine!!

“Pleasantly Surprised!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2007

Booked by my girlfriend who goes to Tunisia every year for the last 26 years, we decided to try 4 days on an All Inclusive basis. We normally go to quiet, small and peaceful Caribbean resorts but my husband and i needed a quick break away and to meet up with my other 6 English friends. We were in fact the ONLY English in the hotel! the rest was German, Dutch, some Chinese, some Russian. The Hotel was large, the accommodation was either in the main hotel or in bungalows scattered around the complex. We had a bungalow which had one bedroom, a shower/toilet/washbasin, a kitchenette and fridge and air conditioned. This was cleaned daily and beds made every morning and clean towels daily. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and very proud of their hotel. The food was excellent, with buffet style for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There were lots and lots of choices at each session. It would be impossible to manage everything! the local wine was good too! They had evening entertainment which was enjoyable at times, but they do a big show once a week, which apparently leaves London behind!!! Most of the guests return and return to this hotel and we can understand why. The beach however, was small. The beach has been eroded away by the building of a jetty in the far distance causing the tide to shift, hence the once long and very wide beach, is now long and very narrow!!! Beach snack bar did excellent Pizza and chips, if you didnt fancy your all inclusive lunch! There was a hotel supermarket, that sold everything if you wanted to go self catering.

Overall, a great and affordable place to stay, with guaranteed sunshine and good food and ambiance. We cant wait to go again next year and become one of the many guests that return year after year after year.

  • Liked — good food, good choice and great friendly staff
  • Disliked — not big enough beach
