“Armpit Of Hell!!”

We are Americans living in Europe. We booked at a agencies in a airport in Germany. We took our 3 children. They were horrified all under 12 yrs at the time. Plague of flies, ants, and cockroaches.Hotel should be condemned! We took pic of the sanitation problems and food processing. Someone from the hotel and told us in french no pic! Later that night, someone put animal feces in front of our front door to step in!! Don't eat here. We saw them cutting up hogs on the ground outside the kitchen(muslim country, right?) and a storage room where potatoes were on the dirt floor and onions. A haven for rats and insects. Stay in Hammumet,it's better. Mostly germans and french visit here. Met some Brits who were just as disgusted as we were. Oh yeah- did I mention the junkyard in the back past the villas and the inhumane, filthy petting zoo? You worked to hard for your money to throw it all away. Go to Disney!!

“A true nightmare !”

My boyfriend and I (25 at that time) had booked a trip in this hotel, whishing romantic holidays.... It revealed be the worst we ever had. At our arrival, we were given a soo ugly room (very old, dirty, window broken, ants inside...) we even refused the idea to sleep one night in! We were told no other rooms were available, but we insisted since we were delivered another one. The other was just "correct". We found the hotel incredibly dirty. A lot of cats, even inside the restaurant room, water put in bottles in front of us (and not bottled water), hotel's staff don't bother and very unprofessionnal, same water seal to clean each rooms... We tried to forget all of this, and to enjoy the holidays as possible. But I came back very very ill, and learned a friend we met during this trip had the same illness. We went several times to the hospital. I which I had never been in this place, and I am very sorry there weren't any review, at such time, to prevent me from going. (I precise both of us are french). Hope it can help you in your choise!

“Its not that bad!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 July 2006

I visited last year & as i was thinking about my holiday i thought i'd read the reviews.
I didn't pay a great deal for this holiday so my expectations were low anyway. We had a great flight & when we arrived we were faced with a very long coach journey (about 3 hrs). It was night & we slept through the whole thing.
When we arrived we were put in a room which was quite like a chalet. it had a large double bed & bunk beds, which for 2 people, it was very roomy. It wasn't the most glamourous, it had a bed, toilet, bath/shower & was clean, what else do you want?
The food was ok, the same old things everyday, pasta, salad, meat & desert. You don't have to queue for that long!! 5 mins max (& i went in the summer hols!)
There was a lovely snack bar which made fresh pizza throughout the day & they were lovely. I had 2 pizzas everyday & filled up on those instead of the other food. But i must say i never saw the breakfast because i never got up that early!
The staff were lovely. Ok i'm 19 & my boyfriend is 20 & we enjoyed playing some of the games. We actually made very good friends with the young lads who worked VERY hard at the hotel. Bless them they get up for 8 & they do not go to bed untill at least 3. Most of them can speak at least 4 languages (french, english, german, arabic & czech) so yes the hotel does cater for ENGLISH people. The bar staff were all very polite.
We soon became wise to the all inclusive aspect, when we went to get drinks at night, we would get 6 at a time, that way it saved us queueing for a while whilst the evening show was on.
If you really don't want to watch the entertainment, Tunisia comes alive at night & a short walk along the beach front takes you to more pubs, bars & outdoor cafes & its very nice.
Altough i must stress as a young lady with her boyfriend i was very intimidated by the Tunisians as of the vast amount of them that appear at night, but we were in safe hands with the friends we made.

All in all, it is a cheap holiday. If you are expecting room-service etc then don't bother going. The rooms are very clean (cleaner comes every day & changed beds & towels ever day, infact she made shapes with our bed sheets like shells or bows & often put fresh flowers on out beds), the food is edible & the enterntainment staff work their socks off & are very helpful & polite.
I enjoyed it but then again it was better than i expected for the money i paid.

Hope others enjoy it like i did

“A holiday is what you make of it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2006

I travelled to Nabeul Beach with my boyfriend last year and I must admit the hotel is not exactly luxury but at the end of the day a holiday is what you make of it right? Ok so the rooms weren't great and I wouldn't visit Tunisia again because of the flies (I doubt the flies are exclusive to Nabeul as one review I've read suggested!!) Ok so the tiolet in our room was disgusting, the smell wasn't nice at all! The water was really salty and I ran a bath one night and the water was bright yellow!! So I opted for a shower instead. The rooms were cool but basic, although we had to push the two (slightly bigger than single) beds together we ended up with one massive bed so I was happy with that! There were clean sheets, comfy beds and big pillows, what more can you ask for! The pool was refreshing and clean surrounded by lots of sun beds (which is good as there were alot of Germans there!) The animation staff were absolutely fantastic and we befriended a few of them, they made the lazy days by the pool very entertaining (although their boss was a very nasty man). The chefs were lovely too and I found the head chef to be extremely charming as he would bring us over new things to try every evening. Yes, the food is repetitive and sometimes not always that pleasant but considering what we paid All inc for two weeks, I wasn't too bothered, as there was always something to eat(the lunchtime pizza was particularly nice, but stay away from the salad if you can avoid it). We did feel like a bit of a minority as there were alot of French, German and Czech guests, but we made some friends there. I would advise not to venture into the town of Nabeul though, as we did one evening to get some mosquito cream for my boyfriend, we were shocked to see how many young men there were just hanging around outside shops/bars etc, as a young woman I felt extremely intimidated and my boyfirned felt very uneasy and would not let go of my hand. The beach just opposite the road was absolutely lovely too, and it was clean (if not a tad windy so we got covered in sand!!) The only thing that almost ruined my holiday (apart from the flies) was the moaning people we encountered! So if you expect luxury wherever you go then don't go to Nabeul Beach, but if you like a relaxed holiday, nice weather and not pay too much for it then this is your place!!

“Absoutley Shocking”

We arrived after along Transfer to find 1 man to check in 3 bus loads of people most of whom were French. The staff could not speak hardly any English. After waiting 1 and half hours to be shown to our room which was not not as promised. No hair dryer television and teh beds were full of Ants. I actually started crying, but decieded i was far too tired to complain. The next day decieded to make the most of it as the bright sunshine seemed t make up for it unitl it was time for braekfast.

The meals are awful.. hadnt a clue what anything was all the igns were in French and German, none of the chefs spoke English. Ques for everthing. Qued 35
miniute for a drink!

The Entertainment was equally poor. Has non idea what they plays were about it was kinda scary to watch. The first 2 nights you could knid of laugh it off but then it was unbearable. They try an bully you into singing and dancing and doing the nightly conga which all the French seem to find widley amusing.

To sum up, the staff are unfriendly to the English we are by far the minority there. Would never go back and would never recommend this to anyone.
I never wish to return to Tunisia.
