“Best holiday I have ever had!!”

My family stayed here October last year for just over two weeks, my mum, my stepdad, me, my 2 brothers and my sister. We are all over 18! But 2 weeks before we went my stepdad was take ill and he could not come with us, it was touch and go weather we were going to go but we would get no money re-funded so we decided to go......I'm so glad we did it was the best holiday ever. We flew from Manchester airport, my mum had booked us premium seats on the plane but when we got to check in the plane didn't have a premium cabin but we still got all the perks and they would refund my mum when we arrived back(which they did) the journey was brilliant and went quite quickly. When we arrived everything ran smoothly and we got our coach to the hotel. The mombassa crossing is an experience. They say 1 hour 30mins transfer but that includes waiting for the ferry at the crossing and getting across so it's not that bad! We arrived at the hotel and we were amazed we were greeted by the animation team throwing Rose petals singing and playing instruments we also were given a cocktail, check ran smoothly, we asked for a bed to be put in my mums room so me and my sister could go in with her, so she wasnt on her own and that was done straight away, our bags were taken for us( they expect a tip) we settled in lovely! The food is amazing we eat sooo much! food all cooked fresh infront of you, we were staying the the kole kole so we went to that restraint everyday, the staff was brilliant and nothing is to much trouble, juma was the head waiter, but we also made friends with alex, benson and samual they were so friendly! The hotel setting is lovely we tried out all the pools but we stayed at the kole kole, the swim up bar is nice at the maradadi pool! The kole kole pool is an infinity pool and you are right on the beach! Always plenty of sunbeds and shade. We ended up making friends with the animation team willy, baya, kalumi, mary and Laureen along with all the others, they were great and had so much energy to keep going all day, we joined in with all the ativities, water polo, water arobics, volly ball and table tennis. We also did the beach walk with them which was lovely and we had a few swahili lessons. The shows in the evenings were amazing and they really put all they have into it, the lion king and mama Mia were the best! Make sure u see them. We went shopping to the markey down the beach( go down the beach turn left and there are stalls all set back up and ally way) make sure you barter!! We went on a safari with jt safaris it was well worth booking with him, we went to tasavo east and saw loads of the animals, it's an amazing experience!! We had no troubles when we were there. All I can say it was amazing could of stayed longer and would DEFINATLY go back! You have to go it's great :)

“Great place to chill out after a safari”

We had a week here after our safari and it was exactly what we wanted. Relaxing, good food, lovely pools, plenty of activities when we wanted them.
The staff were always friendly and helpful. Service at the all inclusive bars was swift and smiling, what more could one ask?
This was our first time on an all inclusive holiday and I had some reservations, but it turned out to be everything we could hope for.

Room Tip: We had a Maridadi room overlooking the pool and the beach, it was spacious with a superb bathroom an...

“Baobab Beach Resort "Duncan Muriuki's comments"”

I beg to difffer with Duncan Muriuki's comment on the comment "“Weird Hotel Policy of guest walking to the gate to be picked up...”

I have heard clients going to this hotel many times and i have never had an experience of that kind, if Muriuki did indentify himself properly without being bully then procedures are there...who knows the other side of any person coming to pick clients and without proper indentification?

Please do not force us to dig deep for your persoanl details.

Stay safe

Room Tip: The staff and the team is superb

“Fabulous Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

My partner and I just returned from 2 weeks at the Baobab and we had the best holiday ever ( we have travelled to a number of destinations). The journey to the hotel was an eye opener and allowed us to see the real Kenya, especially the ferry crossing. From when we arrived to the hotel the hotel staff really looked after us. Nothing was too much trouble and they were helpful and polite. The food is absolutely amazing, my partner is vegetarian and he didn't eat the same thing twice as there was so much choice. There are three pools at the hotel, we spent our time at the maridadi pool which was lovely and had amazing views of the beach and ocean. The beach itself is stunning and they now have security on the beach so we didnt get any hassle from beach sellers. We booked our safari with JT and it was superb! We had a private safari to Tsavo East and the guide was just brilliant and new everything. I would recommend JT all the way. Everyone else who booked there safaris with Thomsons/First Choice came back with sickness and diarrhoea. The shows are ok and the entertainment team try there best. I would recommend The Lion King/Gold/ Acrobats and defo The Beach Party. Considering the troubles in Kenya we felt secure at all times we even visited Wasini Island and swam with wild dolphins. 100% amazing!

“One of the best in mombasa!.”

We stayed here over christmas 2011 in a maridadi room which i have to say was fantastic we looked out over the pool and sea with gardens in between. The room itself was huge with the biggest shower i have ever seen. The room boy yousef was great our room was always immaculate after he had cleaned it. We ate most nights in the maridadi restaurant as this catered for us perfectly, you could eat at any one of 3 restaurants with the maridadi being the smallest but therefore quietest. Apparently the choice of food was greater in the other restaurants but as i said we were more than happy with our quiet table!.
Whilst there we went on safari to the masai mara and as in recent years decided to go with JT Safaris ( www.julius-safaris.com) we have used julius 3 times now and every time it gets better, he just knows how to treat people properly!.(see my review, No:759 on his website).
The pool area at the maridadi is supposed to be the quiet area however the germans do not seem to have grasped this concept, Unfortunately some of our time around the pool was spoilt by a large extended family of germans who couldn't have been any louder or annoying if they had tried. My advice to the hotel is to make this pool clearly marked as a quiet pool and just ask the pool attendants to keep it respectable!. I know it sounds like i am bleeting but there are 2 other lower levels to this pool as well as 2 pools elsewhere in the hotel.
Putting the germans aside the pool is fantastic not quite an infinity but very close, you can swim to the far end and overlook the grounds and sea it is quite spectacular. The beach is beautiful if not a little difficult as you tend to get pestered by the beach boys, we found that by going in the sea 1st thing in the morning we were left totally alone, unfortunately the beach is public so this cannot be helped.
All in all one of the best hotels we have stayed in in mombasa and we have stayed in 5.
We will return to baobab beach and hopefully a quiet pool!.

Room Tip: For a quieter time ask for a room in baobab or maridadi.
