I have another review about the horrendous "full service" Holiday Inn that I was initially booked into for my business trip to Jonesboro. After leaving that disaster, I checked into the Express next door. The people at the desk were nice and accommodating and I was hopeful about the room itself. At first glance it was not bad, but then I noticed how seriously beat up the tub and shower looked, the banged up furniture, the awful lighting, the hair on the bathroom floor on check-in that was not mine, the dead bug on the floor by my door, no fan in the bathroom (more appropriately called a steam room), the sound of the toilet flushing next door that was loud enough to WAKE me in the night. At least by visual inspection the bedding and towels appeared clean, but who knows given the state of the floors and bathroom. On the positive: free internet, hot water, quiet (except for the toilet issue), nice people, a place to print my boarding pass, convenient. I stay at a lot of mid range hotels for work during the year and in the 4 Holiday Inn Express stays this year I can't say I have been impressed with any of them. They have been average at best and even that is a stretch that gets there only because the staff was super.
