“Spacious rooms, but too expensive and dirty bathroom”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2011

We just needed a stopover on our way to Maun and chose this hotel because of its convenient and very central location. The design was nice (old colonial style and ambience) and the room spacious, but the bathroom was not clean (hairs all over the place), the remote for the TV not working, the reception lady not very friendly and the adjacent restaurant/pub quite a disappointment (though the ribs basket was ok). All together it is still ok for a stopover, but far too expensive for what it has to offer.

“Expensive, low service standards, ok rooms, some secure parking”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2010

Typical Botswana overpriced hotel, went through 3 rooms before I got one which was clean(ish) & the fan & a/c worked.
Although the room was spacious and the bathroom a decent size, you wouldn't want to spend any time studying the carpet or soft furnishings. The sheets were clean, and one channel on the tv worked. Had unwanted wildlife in the bathrooms. The a/c was stuck at 17 degrees but functioned, and the fan rattled like an AK47. Breakfast not included, and the cafe round the corner has the worst coffee this side of Gaborone. One night was enough, and only the secure(ish) parking area save this from being a 1* place.

Room was clean, restaurant and bar conveniently located next door, price reasonable, secure parking just below your window, no complaints.

“Nice Stopover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2007

We stayed one night at the Diggers Inn in Francistown. It is situated in an excellent location, within walking distance to all te town facilities. We got a beautiful room with very large beds, decorated in the stylish 18 th century with a balcony and AC.
The small bathroom with shower was completely renovated. The rate was excellent for the quality of the room. There is a free secure parking. I would also recommend the Diggers Inn Restaurant with Sports Bar situated right beside the hotel.
The staff at reception and restaurant is very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone for a stopover on their way to Kasane or Maun.
