I don't know what problems others have had with this motel, but I stayed here for a weekend in June of 2010. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was very nice, clean, and lots of room to move around. The biggest problem was that one of the toilet hinges was either loose or cracked. You had to be careful when sitting on the toilet seat but that wasn't a biggie. I made mention of this problem to the desk staff the next morning and the clerk promptly made a note of the problem and would forward it to the maintenance man on Monday morning. The breakfast area was very nice. Cold cereal was all that I wanted for breakfast and there was plenty to choose from with plenty of fresh milk. I liked the fact that the hotel sat on top of a hill and in the late evening hours, you could sit out by the pool and watch the town settling in for the night. There is a Mexican restaurant across the street and a barbecue hut was next door. I was very pleased with my stay here and would recommend it to everyone.

Paid for a jacuzzi suite. Jacuzzi didn't work. Room wasn't the cleanest.The carpet was old and very worn. We were in a 2nd floor room. The floor had several soft spots where your feet would sink into the floor. Plunger in the bathroom. Really? Not the most sanitary thing to leave laying around in a room. Toilet took several attempts to flush. Now we know the reason for the plunger. Exposed wiring in the ceiling of the bathroom. Unwrapped styrofoam cups for drinking glasses. The check in staff advised us that the jacuzzi was "slow". When asked for a definition of slow, we were told it worked but wasn't as powerful as the other rooms. This was the last jacuzzi suite they had, so we took it thinking that half power would be better than nothing. Guess we were wrong. When checking out, issues about the room were brought to the attention of the front desk staff. We were told that the room had been discounted because the jacuzzi didn't work. They knew it didn't work but led us to believe that it did when we checked in. The room was discounted to the rate of a king room. $70. Overall not happy with this hotel. We travel to Hardy once a year to visit family. My wife and I will usually spend one night out at a hotel while visiting. This was the first time we had done this in a few years. Guess we'll have to find someplace else for next year's trip. We'll never stay here again and would advise others to avoid this place.

When they built this hotel I do not believe they spent any money on soundproofing. We could hear activity in the room above, the room beside, and from folks walking by chatting, which they do starting at 6 am. There is also a loud whine that seems to occur whenever anyone in whole hotel turns on their shower. The rooms were clean, but the staff was kind of stingy with the breakfast. We had to ask for every item we needed. There must be a better place!

This hotel/motel is not that old. Yet, it has the feel of a 40-year old Holiday Inn. I had always thought that the adages about Holiday Inn towels were over exaggerated....not true. This Day's Inn had towels that actually had HOLES in them - worn into them.

The grounds around the building were not clean and garbage was seen in the outside halls between buildings.

The room itself smelled a bit moldy as a result of unclean filters in the A/C. Although clean, some TLC was needed around the bathroom plumbing - shower, etc.

This is not to mention a drunken couple that were checked in next to us which ended with a broken arm and one party being taken into custody - handcuffed. I was the one that stopped the incident and ensured 911 was called. All I received from the franchise owner was a nice - "thank you."

Not my favorite place.
