Overall the hotel is acceptable. Some good, some not so good features.
Lobby, Pool, and Restaurants are very nice. So that provides for a positive start.
My room, which was on the first floor, was out dated and not that clean. It was acceptable and clean enough for me, but I know my wife would have been uncomfortable. ;) However, for Maturin Venezuela, its pretty nice considering.
The internet was not consistent. It worked great on two of the nights. On the good nights it worked fine and was even able to Skype. However, the other night it was down a lot or very slow when it was up. I was not able to simply up load emails without waiting for 30 minutes (worse than dialup)... which can be a very frustrating situation. I think we are getting spoiled with such good internet access these days that I come to expect it, no matter what.
As for ammenities, I was just happy that they had an exercise room (a few treadmills, a bike, some weights, and a trainer who only spoke Spanish, but was very helpful to me and others). The quality of the machines was low but they worked so if you want to exercise you can.
That was a lot nicer than the hotel I stayed in during my last trip to Maturin, so I gave it an Average. However, US standards, I would give it an Okay, but some problems.
