“Overpriced like everything in Venezuela”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

If this hotel costed like $90 it would be fair, but it cost $300. It is way, way overpriced like everything in Venezuela.because of the exchange rate they use for turists. For a $90 hotel it is nice, the rooms are good and very clean. The staff is very mixed, some are very good and some are very little serviceminded. The breakfast is fair, both local and international food. All in all find a better hotel or even better, find a other country where you will get way more value for your money. Furthermore the country is getting more and more unsafe and you will really need to care each moment.

“Expensive and disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

I stayed recently at the Caracas Palace, located in the trendy Plaza Altamira. Because of inflation and exchange rate restrictions, Hotels are very expensive in Venezuela. I was told the Caracas Palace offered slightly better prices than its competitors (Marriott, etc).

Although the Palace charged me approx US$320/night, the service really does not justify that price. The hotel makes me think of hotels during the Soviet era. The building is very clean and impressive, but cold and empty. The reception lacks interest (except one more energetic lady) on customer srvice. food is ok, but nothing special. There is no information about anything. I sense the hotel managers do not really care about marketing and promoting the city, Venezuela tourism or even their own hotel.

The reception also wanted to charge me an entire night just because I showed a couple of ours earlier than the checking-in period. Even though the room was available already, and I had travelled all night, I was tired and looking forward to a shower. I waited the two hours.

A disappointing experience in a city where choices are becoming harder to find as prices continue to go up.

“Excellent Hotel in a Safe Spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2011

We spent 4 nights at the Caracas Palace and we were very happy with everything!
The rooms are nice and clean and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast buffet is good and offers also local products and local dishes. Moreover, the location of the hotel is very safe, which is extremely important in a city like Caracas!
The rooms over the street can be noisy, ask for high floors if you like quite rooms!

“Excellent, pretty, with amazing views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2009

We originally planned on staying there for just a night, but we soon felt so "homie" that we came back another 3 nights! The hotel stuff were very nice, they even booked us the same room all 4 nights! The room is very big, the bed not only is huge but the mattress in probably the best i've ever slept on, bathroom is big and has a separate shower/buthtub, and the breakfast is an option u just shouldn't miss! No1 attraction though is the amazing Altamira view u get from ur room. Certainly choose a mountain view room (picture attached)!
Around the hotel is the metro, many restaurants. park del'este, a western shopping mall with a cineplex and plenty of bars and clubs which we all went by foot and didn't feel any danger at all!
Concerning prices, do pay in Bolivares and remember that in weekends u get a 30% discount. Weekends are 800bolivares (80 euros) and weekdays are 1200Blv (120euros). That is very cheap for us Europeans.

“Loved the experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2009

Our experience in Caracas was made better by the service and quality of accomodations provided by the Caracas Palace.
I've stayed at several other city hotels in this country, but they pale in comparisson. If you are traveling for the first time to Caracas, don't take your chances anywhere else. You will not regret it.
