“Overrated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2011

Firstly, chain hotels in Venezuela are not cheap. Embassy Suites, being part of Hilton network, seemed to promise some quality... which was not delivered.

Arriving to the hotel at 16hrs, the room was not ready yet. Also when the booking was made for 2 double beds, they seemed to be surprised that we do not want to have just 1 queen. Half an hour later, the room was ready.

Room was located on 10th floor. It was quite spacious, with two rooms, living-room having windows facing the inner atrium, bedroom towards the street. The windows were very thin, so during the night all the road traffic was making annoying sounds.

In the bathroom the toilet was leaking - the reception promised to fix it quickly. 4 hours later, while returning from dinner, nothing had been done. After some extra arguments, the plumber came and replaced some components inside the water-tank.

The hotel also offers evening Manager's Reception - an hour between 18.30 to 19.30, during which you can get a glass of wine or beer, with some salty banana chips.

As we were to leave early, we asked for breakfast bags - they promised to organise them, later at 10pm they said that instead there will be fresh pastry and hot drinks available from 5am and onwards (we wanted to leave 5.15am) to discover in the morning that the cook had not returned from last night's party yet and there is nothing at all to offer. Also there was no note of the taxi they promised to organise for us in the evening.

Internet was free, but sometimes like Swiss cheese.

Considering that they price themselves on par with Manhattan hotels and are more expensive than InterContinental in Buenos Aires, for example, the service what you get is certainly not worth the money.

“TERRIBLE SERVICE...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2011

I stayed there in the way to Aruba. I expect at least a good welcome and some good structure, because they say it’s a “Hilton hotel Flag”, but water never warms, frigobar locked, room service… better not to say and if you need some information about the town…google it, don’t ask there.
They have a great range of food for breakfast, but they mix salts and sweets and at the same space. It’s not unusual eat some fruit with sausage flavor

“BAD EXPERIENCE...NEVER AGAIN”

The reason for staying in this hotel was just because the flag “Hilton”, and we expect the minimum quality. We left Brazil to Aruba and necessarily had to make a stop in Caracas, where options for hotels are quite small. Arrived Dec. 31, where we expected at least one New Year's Eve dinner, and there was NOTHING. Receptionists did not know if there was something in town… Worst, the hotel restaurant was CLOSED. We felt highly frustrated and went to sleep hungry at 11 pm ... So, that how our year began.
Several points. Bathroom water never warms, personal hygiene products are very weak, low-quality compared to standard hotel. The breakfast was quite diverse, but simply shared with the réchaud incompatible things and very strong aroma, for example, the bean was in the same pancake réchaud and closed when we ate the pancake tasted like beans ... absurd.
Finally, rooms with minibar locked, only opened the minibar if we left a deposit on the card, did not accept the cash deposit (I offer US$1.000 deposit), thus there was no water to drink or any other commodity, if we wanted we had to ask the lengthy room service ... I felt humiliated and am highly VIP guest at every major hotel chains, but I had a very bad treatment.

“Need to clean the rooms better.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2010 via mobile

I have stayed here many times because it is in the best business location of all CCS hotels. However it is a way off being top notch. Most notably the cleaning of rooms: floors seem not habitually vacuumed, for example. Additionally waitress service at breakfast is utterly appalling: almost impossible to get fresh coffee, for example. On the whole though the staff are extremely good, except for the annoying man who chides me when I fall asleep in the lobby whilst waiting for colleagues (just head on hands not stretched out on a sofa! - it is quite amazing given what else people get up to in this country...).
The price is steep too: for $250 plus tax and service you ought to have something rather better. It is, of course, much cheaper if you change Dollars on the black market...

“satisfactory”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2010

inspite of some confusions in the process of making a reservation, the receptionist was very attentive and helping. waitresses were pretty, nice and kind but didn't seem to have any idea about what to do, taking bit too long to do something.
the room was spacious and the internet was very easy to use but the the shower was not hot enough.
the bed was really nice and comfy, i absolutely loved it but at dawn the traffic noise from down below wakes you up.
no complaints about breakfast!
receptionist who checked me out was a very friendly and spoke good english
