Firstly, chain hotels in Venezuela are not cheap. Embassy Suites, being part of Hilton network, seemed to promise some quality... which was not delivered.
Arriving to the hotel at 16hrs, the room was not ready yet. Also when the booking was made for 2 double beds, they seemed to be surprised that we do not want to have just 1 queen. Half an hour later, the room was ready.
Room was located on 10th floor. It was quite spacious, with two rooms, living-room having windows facing the inner atrium, bedroom towards the street. The windows were very thin, so during the night all the road traffic was making annoying sounds.
In the bathroom the toilet was leaking - the reception promised to fix it quickly. 4 hours later, while returning from dinner, nothing had been done. After some extra arguments, the plumber came and replaced some components inside the water-tank.
The hotel also offers evening Manager's Reception - an hour between 18.30 to 19.30, during which you can get a glass of wine or beer, with some salty banana chips.
As we were to leave early, we asked for breakfast bags - they promised to organise them, later at 10pm they said that instead there will be fresh pastry and hot drinks available from 5am and onwards (we wanted to leave 5.15am) to discover in the morning that the cook had not returned from last night's party yet and there is nothing at all to offer. Also there was no note of the taxi they promised to organise for us in the evening.
Internet was free, but sometimes like Swiss cheese.
Considering that they price themselves on par with Manhattan hotels and are more expensive than InterContinental in Buenos Aires, for example, the service what you get is certainly not worth the money.
