Bottom line: I would stay here again, but would check my expectations at the door.
The hotel location is in a central business district. Most of the populace evaporates come nightfall. So the neighborhood does not offer many night time dining options that other Caracas neighborhoods offer.
If you are not working within walking distance you will need to take a hotel taxi to your destination. These taxis, while expensive, are reliable and the drivers are courteous and friendly.
The room was a standard Embassy Suites room. The only issue I had with the room was that one closet door did not shut properly since it rubbed against ceiling.
The bathroom was adequate. The shower head should have been replaced long ago in order to stop water spraying all about and collecting on the bathroom floor.
The workout room is serviceable. It has two treadmills and two elliptical trainers. The workout room also offers a limited weight machine. The room feels crowded if there are more than three individuals working out at the same time.
For those who like to run, the hotel is a doable 2km from Parque del Este. The hotel is also very close to the Country Club golf course, but I am unfamiliar with any running routes in that neighborhood.
The pool and pool area was small but impressive. It looked relaxing.
The business center exceeded my expectations in both the level of service from the staff as well as the spaciousness of the area.
Both in service and quality of the food, the signature Embassy Suites breakfast buffet was a grade below buffets I have had at other Embassy Suites.
Something happened during this stay that has never happened to me during a hotel stay: My electronic key card to gain access to the elevator and my room kept deactivating. Hotel management informed me that my cel phone was deactivating the card. It seems odd that a hotel would not take into account that guests will locate their cel phones close to their electronic key cards at various times during the day.
