Very bad experience, I paid US$ 300/night and the hotel was worst
When I checked-inn the room was not ready and I had wait 2 hours until they checked me in. This happened 1 hour after the check-in time (4 P.M.). But the the room wasn´t ready at that time, I had no towels either amenities
Besides the rate @ $300/night I paid for every single service, the breakfast was not included, the gym (US$20/day), the Internet (US$20/day)
The bathroom floor flooded at night, and when I informed nothing happened
The WORST is the location; it is not safety walk outside the Hotel…
I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAY ON IT

We have stayed at the Melia 3 times now are it never disappoints. We stayed here 2 nights. I strongly recommend the Royal Service Rooms that include the private happy hour and the private breakfast. They truly make you feel special. The hotel is connected El Recreo Shopping Mall which is nice. There are not many areas in Caracas that one feels safe but I certainly feel safe at this hotel and the shopping mall that it is conected to.

We stayed there only because our flight back to Brazil was canceled and we had to spend another night in Caracas, on September 2010. This hotel is great!!! It was conected to a shopping center and very well located, very near to a metro station. Our room, actually, our suite was incredible. It had three room, a living room, american kitchen and two bathrooms. The master room also had a closet. The meals were great. It is a very luxurious hotel!

Worst hotel experience of my life. I had to call almost every day to request towels and Shampoo (would think that was something that was automatically included in the service when you are paying more than $200+ per night). Sometimes they did not even clean my room and I had to call and complain. My room key kept disactivating itself and had to constantly go to reception to get it reactivated. The restaurants are expensive and the food is quite disappointing. In short, worst hotel service I have ever encountered - rooms are nice, but don't make up for the poor service. If you can afford it, the Marriott in El Rosal is much nicer and offers true service (poor quality restaurant though also). Oh and the Meliá is in a dangerous neighborhood, another reason to avoid this horrible hotel!
