This hotel is crack, crack, crack. The rooms were disgusting- at first, we were given rooms in the crack part of the hotel. The toilet would not flush and the shower did not work in either of the 2 rooms we had. After complaining to the hotel staff, we were finally given rooms in the nicer part of the hotel. Though these rooms were much better in comparsion, they did not have a clock or phone in the rooms. As well, when taking a shower, the water fills up faster than it drained so the water comes up all the way to your knees. There was also a problem with some money going missing from the room- the cash were hidden deep inside a bag, yet it still went missing. Be careful with your valuables. When checking out, the hotel also tried to demand more money for the compensated rooms we were given. Overall, the experience was bad enough to make me never want to stay at a Howard Johnson again.

Generally a great place: affordable, lovely pool, clean and organised, lobby WiFi that worked consistently, smiling and kind staff, huge rooms.

I had a great stay EXCEPT for one major problem: someone with access to my room (eg. cleaners perhaps) systematically stole small amounts of cash when I was out... always little enough to make me doubt myself and avoid making a fuss, but adding up to well over $300 in my 10 days there. I confirmed it with the obvious disappearance of certain noted notes, and the switching of a genuine 100-dollar bill for a fake one, and then all the other incidents made sense. If you stay there, LOCK UP YOUR CASH.

Location was ideal. Two blocks away from an internet cafe, an international call centre and the beautiful beach. Three blocks away from the shopping centre. Great service. Good food. I enjoyed my one week stay but please, there should be more bi-lingual staff... at least in the reception area.
