We have just got back from a stay at the Hippocampus resort. This resort was not that bad. Check in was a bit of a pain as our reservation could not be found. We had to leave and go back to the hotel an hour later so they could clean a room for us.
The rooms were clean and roomy. The A/C was lovely and cold which you will need as it is steaming hot on Margarita Island. The only problem with the A/C was it was rather noisy.
We did not get to use the pool at the resort as we were out most of the time. But they had a lot of activities going on for the young and old.
We ate at the restaurant a couple of times, which we had no complaints at all, the food was very good and it was a good value for money. Not like a lot of the restaurants on Margarita.
If you think you are going to go to Margarita and get a good value for money on buying things there. You are totally wrong. It is so so expensive there. I was thinking I would buy a lot of things to take back home, when in fact I did not buy a single thing there.
The Hippocampus mentions it is near a beach. We took a walk down to that beach one day and we were not impressed at all. In fact it was a little scary down there. It was full of police which was shocking as you do not see many police at all on the island.
The Hippocampus was a nice hotel and if you go to Margarita I would recommend anyone to stay there.
