I absolutely loved the service of friendly and kind employees.The view is gorgeous especially the ocean view.
Suggestions:
Cook vegetarian food on a separate grill
Remove dogs from the outdoor restaurant
Identify the depth of the pool and employ a lifeguard at the beach and pool
leave messages on the phone for guests if they are not in the room
plumbing of sinks needs to be checked.Some sinks are clogged.

However these minor problems did not hinder a fabulous vacation.I felt like I was on honeymmon with my husband.Great environment, very scenic.

I visited this resort in November 2010 with my husband and a few relatives and we ended up requesting to switch to a different resort. We were very disappointed.
The hotel looks magnificent from a distance. As you get closer, you notice how aged it looks, and it only goes downhill from there. Everything inside is in major need of updating. The smell of stale smoke hit us as soon as we walked through the doors. When we got to our rooms, they were clean and the view was amazing, but the problem was the shower. The shower drain was completely clogged. When we first asked to have it checked, they said they sent someone, but it was still clogged. The 2nd time we asked to have it checked, we got back to the room and there was a smelly disgusting black mess all over the shower floor that they left behind.
The food at the hotel was good and the staff was polite and friendly. There was little entertainment (outdated 70's music playing from the pool side bar was the entertainment) and all we did was stay at the beach.
We ended up transferring to a different Hesperia hotel - Playa El Agua, which is ranked lower, and we had a great time.

Isla Margarita offers true luxury, you just have to go there al least once to experience it! Many thanks to the staff who did their best to make our holiday very special.
The hotel is a colonial style palace.
Location is picturesque with striking views from the rooms of the beach, neighbouring harbour, golf course, lighthouse. Mountain view rooms are equally nice- you see the surrounding hills with cloud caps, exceptionally romantic. but I still recommend paying the extra for a sea view.
Four restaurants offer premium cuisine, all inclusive with top class service.
Good animation for kids, especially during the weekend when caracas families fly in.
High quality spa. Golf course is beatiful, we did not play, but it gives a romantic touch to the landscape. Good owl watching in the mornings + feeding hibiscus flowers to the local iguana.
Food is exquisite. The hotel offers free transfer to a large shopping center in Porlamar.
For tours avoid the hotel's agency, its a rip-off and not honest, better contact yr agents or other agents that meet their tourists in the lobby.
all in all, look no further, I beleive this is the best hotel in Venezuela and one of the best in the world.
