“Excelent for Venezuelan standards”

The resort infrastructure is new and well taken care off. The beach is beatiful and the pool great too. My kids had a blast.

Food is good and varies everyday.

Service in general was slow but keep in mind that venezuelan tourism industry is almost non existant, this means people do not work as hard to please the customer like in Mexico or other places in the Caribean.

Snorkling sucks, do not even try it. All you will see is sea grass.

“Wonderful, Excellent, Peaceful, Loved it......”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2011

Coche Island was an excellent choice for my son and I. We always felt safe and taken care of. The rooms were very nice and when we returned everyday the service had come in and cleaned and tidied up after us. The shower is outdoors with access from your vanity area, very cool, but expect at high peak times to lose pressure, this didn't bother us.

The infinity pool was huge and the beach went on forever. You never felt like you were bumping into people; it never felt crowded even on the weekend when people flew in from Caracas.

It is a Spanish country and the majority of guests are from other Spanish countries or from Caracas so expect that you should learn a few words or phrases or take a Spanish dictionary with you. This didn't bother us either and should be expected as we are the minority in their country.

We took a few excursions, one shopping in Porlamar where our driver took us on a tour as well and found us an amazing beach restaurant on the north side of Margarita. We also did snorkeling which is done from the resort, a Jeep safari tour, and a wonderful, wonderful horseback riding day through the national park and on the beach. There were many things to choose from right on the Island, like kite surfing.

If you want to party and have a night life all the time I would go elsewhere because this resort is restful, peaceful, and relaxing. I have nothing bad to say about it.

“Mixed feelings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2011

Pros: Nice beach, no waves, nice pool area
Cons: The whole complex, which is not very big anyway gets very busy due to locals arriving on weekends. So, get ready for line-ups and no available tables at dinner time. The evening enetrtainment itself (if any) is very poor, no one speak english and there is not very much to do on Coche island either. If you are one of those you want to be by yourself in the middle of nowhere, this might be a good choice for you.

“Very relaxing and the weather was extraordinary!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2011

This review is extremely accurate... The rooms are clean and offer you a place to rest as well as to cool down. We really enjoyed the outdoor shower, but unfortunately there were some water pressure issues at times. Another minor inconvenience was that they shut the water off in the middle of the night for a couple of hours, so if you require the facilities well you are out of luck.

The beach was wonderful!! The water was calm and refreshing which helped cool us down when the heat from the sun became almost too intense. The weather was absolutely fabulous, since the skies were clear and the sun was shinning 99% of the time. The pool was exceptionally nice and had lots of chairs with the option for shade.

The food was good, but at times lacked variety. There is only one restaurant (buffet style) and one snack bar. We were invited to a special dinner that was a la carte style and it was very good. The bar opens at 11am and the staff is very friendly. The drinks were very good and helped cool us off during the high sun period which was from 11am to 3pm.

The Island is very small and therefore does not offer much entertainment unless of course you enjoy or are looking to learn to kite surf or wind surf and then it is paradise. The island offers very few excursions, but there is always the opportunity to travel to Margarita which is only 20 -30minutes away by boat . If you are looking for relaxation this is the place.

“Great relaxing place. Excellent beach, watersports and great for kids.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2011

Can't fault the excellent time we had over the New Year. Not the biggest fan of outside showers, especially after a rain storm around dusk when the Mosquitos are out. Food excellent. Pool great for kids. Great organised activities too.
