“An adventure to remember...and good friends too”

If you are looking for the remote spot to get away, yet you also would like your comforts as well, this is a great pick. The staff and management are top rate and are experienced in the art of creating a perfect "get away". From the moment you arrive you are treated as an honored friend. Because the resort is small and intimate everyone here greets you (including the guests) on a first name basis. The atmosphere is open and friendly with the ability to spend quiet peaceful time on your own in large accommodations. Kirsty and Paul run an amazing dive center with all the experience of a large resort but not the crowds. This is the way I prefer to travel. Sarah and Chris, who run the resort, have many years of experience and their expertise and friendliness are seen all of their staff. The feel of the place is friendly, peaceful and fun. If you are an adventurous soul who likes the intimacy of a small remote resort, this is a great pick. Also you will find the other guests here to be the same at heart.

“Relaxation in an remote tropical paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Nearly all of the recent reviews on this site use the word 'paradise' to describe Lalati. There is a reason - it IS paradise! A true tropical getaway, my wife and did not want to leave. We felt truly relaxed and looked after while at Lalati. The resort staff are wonderful, the accommodation is huge and roomy, the food and booze are uniformly excellent - and the vibe is just incredible. You can do as much or as little as you like - we did somewhere inbetween those extremes, going snorkelling, getting massages, kayaking to Bat Island, and visiting a local village. We also did a whole lot of drinking at the bar, swimming in the pool, or just hanging in our hammock reading. The one activity that is a MUST DO is the private island picnic, where they drop you off on a private island with a full esky for the day - a real once in a lifetime experience!

I don't really understand the negative reviews on this website, to be honest. I can only think that the people who wrote them did NO research whatsoever before booking. Lalati is not big - maybe 15 people were there when we were - and as such, it is not one of those big resorts that cater to your every need. Want to get completely drunk lying by the pool being waited on hand-and-foot? Don't go to Lalati. Want to be entertained every moment of the day by someone else? Don't go to Lalati. Want to pig out on 23 buffets a day? Again, don't go to Lalati.

However, if you want to chill out, get on 'Fiji time', enjoy the company of wonderful staff (shout outs especially to the marvellous Ala and Mary), have some romance with your partner, and have an all round brilliant experience - then Lalati is for you. We will be back for sure.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Seaview Cottages - the cheapest option - and were very impressed with the huge spac...

“Paradise, adventure and cocktails.”

A Big thank you (Vinaka laka levu) to all the staff at Lalati who made our trip so amazing!
From the moment we arrived, the management and local island staff were all keen to welcome us and introduce themselves, they put us to shame with how they remember your name fist time round. If only my memory was as good.
Due to our booking last minute, I was shocked to see some negative reviews; we had no experience of any of the concerns mentioned. We always had a hot shower and there are a couple of less tidal and more secluded beaches only a few minutes kayak away, and the staff if asked I’m sure would take you to and from by boat for a scheduled visit if you don’t have the energy to kayak yourself.
What we loved about Lalati was the remoteness of the island, we chose not to get the internet access and it was great to shut off at get away from it all. If you want some night life to party, then maybe stick to the mainland, although we had plenty of laughs at the bar with the other guests.
When we visited there were no more than 10 guests in total, so the staff were able to give lots of individual attention. There is no room service or pool side service, but it’s not really needed as it’s only a short walk to the bar where Ala is waiting with a big smile and a special cocktail recipe up her sleeve (Cheers!).
The Diving and snorkelling is beautiful and unique and strongly recommended. Either Paul or Kirsty was always at hand to answer any questions. It was well run and organised. My wife even though PADI qualified was nervous about diving but was patiently encouraged and supported throughout. We also did the shark dive which was AMAZING!
The food was always tasty as long as you’re not a fussy eater, the food ranged from steak, burgers, curries, fish, I’m sure the kitchen would accommodate if you had any suggestions. The menu was varied day to day there was always at least two options on the menu.
We chose the bachelorette package which meant lots of the extra charge activities were included in our package. Kayaking and trekking through Beqa (Benga) island was like stepping back in time, there are no other resorts in close proximity and it’s great to travel somewhere you can experience some of the un-spoiled real Fiji. This resort is not the Shangria-la or a Hilton that caters for a thousand guests. It is an intimate, unique experience that we found cultural, relaxing and full of activities.

“Five Days in Paradise”

If you're looking to unwind and relax and be spoiled by Nature, served fresh, delicious meals, and be pampered by a wonderful group of people,  then consider Lalati Spa and Resort on the Island of Beqa, a 30 minute boat ride from the mainland of Fiji.  It's tranquility is an integral part of its beauty with activities ranging from snorkeling, diving, kayaking, boating, hiking, deep sea fishing, or just chilling on the veranda of your oceanfront villa with a good book.  A special shout out to the Fijian staff who always greeted us by name!  On departure day, and two hours away from the resort on our way to the airport, we discovered that we had left a significant amount of cash in an envelope on our breakfast table.  Many  thanks to Ollie, our waitress that morning, for her honesty in delivering it to the management.  That in itself deserves 5 stars!  Thank You Lalati for allowing us to experience your little slice of heaven!   Jody and Paul from San Diego

“A perfect remote paradise coupled with the friendliest people on Earth equalled one memorable honeymoon.”

The Lalati resort was exactly what we were looking for. Peace. Quiet. Relaxation. The food was excellent and always with a smile. While we were there we snorkled which the reefs are right there in the lagoon. We did a village visit and also hiked to the nearby waterfall. A note, it was summer time so I recommend bringing plenty of sun screen. Also, the room we stayed in was not air conditioned but the fan and beach breeze was plenty. We loved this resort and we would go back for another stay and see everyone again.
