“Satisfactory”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2008

This place is fine but I don't think it justifies some of the superlatives lavished by others. Nice room, quite small, not too frilly (thank goodness). There is a conservatory for sitting in but it's not inspiring. It's a mile or two out of Fishguard on an A-road so it's neither convenient for the town nor in the wilds. Views are pleasant enough. Hosts are helpful - they directed us to an excellent restaurant (Coast Bistro) in Fishguard but damned it with such faint praise that we almost didn't go there! Breakfast is OK but not fantastic, and we felt that for a night in February we would expect a bit more for the price. Having said that, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

“Trecinni is terrific”

My partner and I needed a B & B in Fishguard for the night so we decided to stay at Trecinni, may we say we found the best bed and breakfast ever which is a 10 minute walk along a coastal path from the town or a couple of minutes in the car.

The accomodation was first class not only did we have a very modern room which was very clean and comfy with en-suite but the use of a conservatory where we could read, watch tv or just relax, it was like home from home.

Due to having to return to this area again in a months time we will definately be staying with Donna, Ian and Natalie who were first class hosts.

Thank you very much for excellent customer service.

“A great place..if you get the ensuite!”

Very nice b&b, in a lovely situation overlooking Fishguard Bay. All other rooms were full, so we ended up in the room in the eaves, which was very sweet (if you don't mind stooping to get to one side of the bed!), with great views from the Velux window. The only problem was this room wasn't ensuite and the shared bathroom was down a flight of stairs and along a corrider, past several other rooms, complete with creaky floorboards and a very loud lock. This was a bit of a pain if you needed to go in the night, and I'm not sure how many we were sharing with but it always seemed occupied whenever I wanted to use it! Also bathrobes in the rooms would have been lovely, as tiptoeing about in your nightie can be a bit embaressing! So go for the ensuite if you can. But overall, was a very nice place, with friendly owners and a comfy clean bed.

“Charming people”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2007

Trecinni is a bed & breakfast about a mile outside Fishguard. If you haven't got a car it will be a bit of a nightmare to get to and from Fishguard because it is at the top of the hill. If you have got a car however, no problem because there is parking available.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. They are what makes this B&B stand out in my view.

The Breakfast was average.

We stayed in the top floor room. The bedroom was clean and pleasant. Our only negative was that the mattress was deeply uncomfortable. We did mention this to the owners, but only as we were leaving., so I cant say that we gave them an opportunity to do anything about it. When we did mention it they weren't defensive but promised to check it out and see if it needed to be replaced.

The room we stayed in had a shared bathroom; although I believe they have en suites available too. The shared bathroom was very well appointed with good modern fittings and an excellent shower.

If it wasn't for the mattress I would definitely be staying there again. I didnt try any of the other beds so we may just have been unlucky.

On a side note - we ate at the Old Pharmacy in Solva. I thoroughly recommend this place, which was expensive but good.

“loved the hotel B/B”

This hotel we came across by chance,we drove 250 miles from the London area .Four of us we were on our way to Ireland for a weekend break to get away from the kids and the grandchildren but we forgot to book overnight stay at the Ferry port in Fishguard, and by chance we came across this jewel in the crown of Hotel B/B.s in the area.
At first glance you could see that the property was in a very well maintained state set so close to the coastal path over looking the Bay.
The rooms are in 5star order ,matched only by the warmth of hospitality from Donna Ian and Natalie the family who run the Hotel
We felt as if we were visiting family such was the way we was treated
They have put alot of hard work into this Hotel with the great attitude of "we offer you only ,what we expect ourselves"
We have no connection with this hotel in any shape or form but in this day and age of "putting up with"it is nice to report there are places out there who put the customer first and this is one of them.
