“Terrible service, decent rooms”

We arrived for our stay awaiting our ferry the next day, straight away the girl who "greeted" us barely talked and didn't seem capable of lifting her feet when walking which is a personal pet hate she gave the impression of being disinterested. We went straight to our room which was room 8 a twin at the back with a restricted view of the bay - restricted by the roof space in front and also the condensation on the window! The window was desperately in need of re-grouting or replacement as there was water seeping in and lying on the window sill, with the toilet window being slightly worse. Now it is understandable given the time of year and the brutal weather those windows receive for the condensation but the windows are not subject to conservation as they are not on the front so why not fit double glazed upvc? We went down later on and asked for a dinner menu which was duly delivered then the guy never returned to see if we wished to order so we went to the chip shop instead! The beds were surprisingly clean and comfortable which afforded a decent nights sleep the mould and mildew around the walls of the shower room were rather displeasing. Breakfast was pretty standard hot food cooked to order and cold items available at the buffet. Certainly not big brand price, service or quality and not worth consideration again

“Ferry Boat Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Stayed here overnight in May 2011. Ideal location for touring / sightseeing. Rooms very clean and warm. Equipped with a TV. Seemed a wee bit pricey but it was hard to get accommodation anywhere in Ullapool that weekend. Good Scottish breakfast provided.

A bit difficult making arrangement over the telephone as I had to phone back and speak to someone else later.

“Great pub food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

Went twice whilst on a weeks break, and had very nice good value for money food.
Very accommodating with kids meals being smaller versions of adult meals. Brilliant location looking out onto loch broom. Will definately go again.

“Friendly welcome and tasty food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011 via mobile

On a very wet day we came across this little pub and were very glad we did. We had some tasty soup and lovely fresh sandwiches. The interior was attractive and great view of the sea front.

“short and sweet...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

I stayed for just one night en route from Stornoway to Inverness, booked it at the last minute and was very pleased with both the room and the food. Having arrived on the ferry, the hotel was just a few minutes walk along the sea front. Felt comfortable as a lone traveller. The room was spotless and comfortably furnished and the food which was served downstairs was gorgeous. There maybe could have been a couple more veggie choices on the menu, but what there was was really tasty and well presented. The bar was easy going and friendly .... I would happily stay there again.
