“Appreciate it for what it is - An Excellent B&B !.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

For 6-months of the year I live out of B&B's because of my work, and in consequence my list of priorities may be different to those of others.

I visited The Riverside in September of 2011 with a group of seven people from Canada, and we all found The Riverside excellent for the following reasons.

I appreciate at a B&B.....
Immaculate Cleanliness -
The Riverside scores top marks here. Both bedrooms and public rooms are spotless, and the house smells fresh.
Well appointed rooms -
Riverside rooms are functional and very well equipped. They are very comfortable, and do the job very well, You can't ask more than that.
Warm rooms on cold days -
It was quite cold outside when we arrived at Riverside, so it was pleasant to find our rooms comfy and warm. So many B&Bs are like refrigerators, but the Riverside is lovely and warm.
Showers that work -
Riverside showers are excellent. Lots of pressure and lashings of hot water. So many B&B showers do not make even the most basic of requirements.
Warm friendly welcome, and helpful hosts - Charlie & Linda excel themselves here, and if required are on hand to give advice about the area.
Good Breakfasts -
The menu at the Riverside it quite extensive and adequate for most people. The food is cooked to order, and served on hot plates.

All in all the Riverside gets 100% all round from us.

In short a top quality B&B at extremely fair rates.

“Yet Another amazing stay at the Riverside hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011 via mobile

My Girlfriend and I were visiting Ullapool for a few nights before heading further north up Scotland. We were recommended the riverside hotel by friends and to this day still stands as the best recommendation to date. We arrived at riverside to the most welcoming reception by our hosts Charlie and Linda MacRae. They immediately made us feel welcome and ensured all of our hospitality needs were attended for, with Charlie giving us a knowledgeable insight into all the local attractions in Ullapool.luxurious rooms, fantastic showers and a truly incredible Scottish breakfast awaits at the Riverside hotel. We stayed during the Loopallu festival (highly recommend) and were expecting to hear the noise from everyone stumbling back from the pubs, but we may as well have been in the middle of the countryside it was so quiet. Riverside is within a. 5 minute walk of the town centre yet perfectly located to receive an incredible nights sleep. Staying in the riverside was the highlight of our trip and we will definetly be coming back next year.

“Fantastic B&B, couldn't ask for any better.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

Young couple on a B&B travelling holiday. Decided Ullapool as one of three destinations to visit. Out of the 3 places ( the others being in Fort Augustus and Oban) this was by far our favourite B&B. A warm family welcome on a wet summers day was just what we needed to lighten our spirits. The owners were more than happy to give us advice on places to visit and where to eat out. The room was very modern, in pristine condition and the bathroom was excellent. I feel that a powerful shower is very important and this is exactly what i got. The bed was extremly comfy and we had no problems sleeping at all. In the morning breakfast was cooked to perfection with an extravagant range of options available. All in all it was an excellent place to stay and one which i would recommend to friends and family at no hesitation. 5 Star.

A fantastic guesthouse. Spotlessly clean and and a spacious room. A great base from which to enjoy the Ullapool Guitar Festival. The friendly owners gave us great local tips on how to get the most out of the area. Would heartily recommend and will return to again I am sure.
