I would like to say many thanks, I was travelling on my own in July and needed a place to stay for a couple of day to travel around the Galloway area. I would recommend this place any time,.

This is the third time I have stayed at Airds Farm and the welcome, accommodation and quality of care is maintained. Nothing is too much trouble as Tricia Keith is hospitality personified, the rooms are comfortable, the views fantastic, the breakfasts scrumptious and having border collies to greet you is just the icing on the cake. If you are looking for B&B in Dumfries and Galloway look no further.
weekend away on route to ayrshire coast,a much needed break......bliss........nuff said :) home from home, friendly, hospitable, and most importantly peacefull.......highly highly recommended.!
I can't think of when I've had a more relaxing stay in a beautiful area. As noted by others, the property is perched on a hill with views of Loch Ken, herds of cattle and flocks of sheep. It's easy to find, with quick access to Castle Douglas, New Galloway and other nearby towns. Tricia was most friendly and welcoming, and the border collies kept us well entertained. My only regret is that I was not able to stay at Airds Farm a little longer and I definitely want to return.
We have just returned from a week's holiday staying at Airdsmill which is the 4 bed luxury house adjacent to Airds Farm B&B and also owned by Alan and Tricia. We ranged in age from 12 to 85(!) and everyone enjoyed themselves. The house has a high degree of comfort and everything has been taken care of by the lovely, friendly owners Alan and Tricia who were on hand to make sure everything was fine and offer advice although without being intrusive.
There was a beautifully equipped kitchen and utility room with everything you could possibly need. A comfortable living area with tv, books and chess set etc. All the bedrooms were very comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Two huge bathrooms with heated towel rails etc. A really huge bedroom upstairs in the old part of the house with its own en-suite too.
The outside space was very comfortable with a wooden seat outside and well tended gardens/rockery. Also a large circular picnic bench where we had a couple of great BBQs. The views from the B&B up the hill are amazing - over to Lock Ken and into Castle Douglas. My son had a great time playing with the owners' three Border Collies who are very well trained and friendly. I jogged down to the main road a couple of times and it is breathtakingly pretty, particularly for nature lovers. We saw red kites, rabbits - not to mention the bulls!!
This is a great base for a holiday as it is centrally situated and we made trips to Portpatrick and to Ardrossan for the Isle of Arran but closer by you have Castle Douglas and Kircudbright just a few miles away. Alan recommended Carlos Italian Restaurant in Castle Douglas and it was a great recommendation as the food was excellent and the staff were friendly and welcoming so well worth a visit.
We would definitely holiday here again. If you want a very comfortable base in a beautiful, picturesque area of Scotland you really can't go wrong here. A big thanks to Alan and Tricia who are definitely onto a winner with this - I'm sure we will be back again...!
