BOUTIQUE RATES for ROADSIDE MOTEL. Desperate need of remodeling. It might have been clean, but felt dirty. The water had been opened and drank by someone else prior to our arrival. DO NOT eat at the restaurant in the evening. I was served duck so tough that I needed a steak knife. It was supposedly a breast, but was cut into chunks, some of which had bone fragments in it. When I scraped off the sauce to see what I was eating, I realized that there were still feathers on the meat. On the upside, the bed was comfortable and the staff friendly. The next night we spent elsewhere, in a place twice as luxurious, were twice as pampered and fussed over by the staff, and paid the same amount of money. Go figure.

This hotel is living in the past! The bedroom I stayed in was really dated. I had to ask for the bathroom to be cleaned, I would have been bathing in somebody elses filth otherwise! I had been allocated a SMOKING room, they had tried to diguise the smell by some kind of 'plug in' device. I couldn't decide which was the lesser of the two evils, woke up to itchy eyes, sore throat etc. Checked out the following day, checked into the Bank of Fleet Hotel....FANTASTIC PLACE, fantastic welcome, great breakfasts, beautifully clean, great stay!
