“What a nice find”

Stayed for one night whilst visiting the area and couldnt believe how nice it was. Girl serving on the bar was fantastic very attentive and offered great service. We arrived and had some dinner which was good and a few drinks nice environment to sit in. Had breakie the next morning and was to a good standard set you up for the day. Would definately use again if in the area.

“New owners have given this county hotel a modern makeover”

This hotel has changed hands recently and been given a facelift, both outside and in. The rooms are of a contemporary design, very comfortable and good value. The staff and the owners alike are very friendly and helpful and it was nice to talk to the locals, sitting in the bar. We had a few lovely meals in The Granary restaurant too and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Wigtown and to the Wigtown Ploughman.

Spent some time in Wigtown recently and can recommended the Ploughman Hotel.The hotel is an older building and the en-suite room was functional and clean and even had a mini-fridge,as well as TV and kettle.The powershower was excellent with hot water available at any time of the day.The food was very good too and also reasonably priced.The hosts and their family were friendly and customer-orientated with nothing being too much trouble.This is a small hotel which deserves to succeed as
the owners understand the true meaning of customer service and would certainly stay here again.Very reasonable price for the room too!
