“Clean and comfortable”

Two very nice people run a spotlessly clean and comfortable b & b. Very quiet location with ample secure parking. Ideal for 2 or 3 couples having a reunion (as were we). An evening meal on the 1st night prepared by Julie was typical good home cooking. A short walk into town lead us to the Galloway Arms for dinner on other nights where we found excelent local food (with piles of chips that could not be avoided). There were no important negative features but those planning a visit might like to consider bringing some extra clothes hangers, a bottle of shampoo and some non slimline tonic for the G&T.
Please go and see the red kites being fed at 2pm. The local golf course was a pleasure to play with reasonable green fee and buggy hire (phone 1st). The town itself, appart from its location, is rather undistinguished.
We greatly enjoyed meeting Rob and Julie and would certainly stay again if we were in the area.

“Exceptional Stay and the Best Guesthouse I have ever been too!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2010

I spent 5 night at Rowallan over the August bank holiday weekend. The area, the house, the garden, the host's, the beauty, the breakfast and dinners, the fun of the trip was overwhelming. What a Fanatatic guesthouse a beuatiful area.

I look forward to my next visit

“A Really Comfortable, Quiet and Friendly B&B with Excellent Hosts!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

A five day stay in an extremely comfortable and quiet B and B. The bedroom was spotless well equipped, ensuite with a lovely view over the town to the hills beyond. There are two very comfortable resident lounges, one being a private, residents' bar, a conservatory dining room overlooking the garden, excellent parking space, a lovely garden with seats and benches and 6 bedrooms. Wi-fi is available, dinner and or packed lunches can be arranged in advance. It is a five minute walk into the town centre and there are at least six restaurants available within a ten minute walk; yet the building and garden are quiet and very restful. Rob and Julie, the owners are very welcoming and eager to meet guests' requirements. I heartily recommend Rowallan to those seeking a comfortable and peaceful place to stay. The weather over the weekend was brilliant, too!

“Charming Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

Rowallan House was a lovely place to stay. The setting is a lovely house with an abundance of space to relax, a pretty garden, copious parking and tucked quietly away. Crucially our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable (one time 8 month pregnant lady slept well!). By far the best aspect is the welcoming couple who run Rowallan House; you are made to feel most welcome and they have a real personal touch, happy to chat. The breakfasts provided was delicious and a good size. The whole place has a homely and pleasant atmosphere.

I would recommend this B&B to anyone and only wish we travelled to the Galloway area more often to take advantage of Rowallan House and its charming owners.

“Friendly welcome on a wet day after a long journey - what more could you want?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2010

Rob and Julie's friendly welcome for my wife and I after nearly five hundred miles on a wet day speaks for their approach and hospitality to guests. A large, clean en-suit room with a comfortable bed is available. After a good nights sleep, home cooked breakfast awaits with fresh local produce. Fuelled up for the day, with the sun showing promise we headed out each morning to walk, talk, and admire the stunning countryside views over moorlands, loch and bays. Thoughtfully, picnics and dinner can be provided if booked in advance with more home cooked food.
Rowallan House provides a homely, well run guest house base to conveniently explore this part of Galloway and coast just off the A75. Highly recommended.
