“Beautiful new spa rooms.”

My wife and I stayed here for one night in a spa suite in feb 2012.
The new room was stunning, it was very large and open plan.
The bathroom was beautiful, it had an enormous bath and a large walk in shower with lots of nice toiletries.
The bed was huge and comfortable.
There was a nespresso machine with a selection of coffees including my favourite purple coloured one. Bonus.
There is sliding doors leading out to a roof top terrace with lovely views of the countryside.
You also have full use of the spa facilities while there so don't forget your costume.
We had dinner in the restaurant, the menu had 6 or 7 starters and mains to choose from so not a huge selection but you know whatever you choose it will be delicious.
The service is exceptional as always and the waiter helped us choose a very nice bottle of red to go with our choice of dinner.
All in all it was a fantastic night and I would recommend this hotel/restaurant to anyone.
We will be back soon.

“Fantastic service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 via mobile

We went to the Ockenden Manor for our anniversary evening and from start to finish a fantastic experience. We were welcomed and all services explained to us and shown to a beautiful room, Hugh, we had our 2 children 4 and 7 with us and they were well catered for with games to play and offered basically anything they wanted in the restaurant, the food for us was beautiful and well worthy of the michelin star. We spent the afternoon in the spa which is beautiful fantastic, although slightly cold pool where you can swim outside 2 jacuzi a walk through shower, very relaxing .
Overall highly recommend we will be back.

“Great Saturday lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

A lovely lunch (we stayed four hours) we choose from the excellent value two course daily lunch menu, interesting wines. The staff were professional the service was not obtrusive but quietly professional, enjoyed everything including the coffee and petit fours by the roaring log fire in the drawing room

“Great restaurant, terrible hotel”

We went for a relaxing night away from the pre-Christmas stresses. On arrival we noticed that there was building work underway but were reassured that there would not be early morning noise as the work was internal. The room itself was charming but the bathroom tatty and dated.
In the morning we were woken before 8 by many lorries and vans turning, reversing with alarms, parking and unloading outside our window. When we asked Reception why we hadn't been warned on booking about the building work or given a room away from the lorry park we were treated with contempt. When I wrote later to complain I received no reply.
The food in the restaurant was excellent but overall, over £300 for a miserable night and very poor customer service was very bad value.

“Sunday Spa Escape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012 via mobile

We recently stayed at Ockenden Manor for the second time. This visit we stayed in a spa suite, a huge, modern and extremely comfortable room. The new spa facilities were beautiful, the indoor/outdoor pool was a highlight. It all made for an extremely relaxing Sunday afternoon/night getaway.
Sunday night's meal in the Michelin starred restaurant was faultless. The food sounded good, looked great and tasted even better. The restaurant service was spot-on and the pre-dinner drink in the wood panelled snug/bar by the wood burner was perfect on a cold winter's night.
If you prefer the traditional style and want the full English manor house experience, complete with wood panelled rooms, log fires and beamed ceilings, then the original hotel building is for you. If you are searching for modern luxury, then check out the suites in the new spa building, it's a one minute walk from the manor house.
