This is a very nice, comfortable hotel. the bar is, in fact the best pub in Gairloch, the food menu is good, staff friendly, in an area renowned for its scenery, I have stayed at ALL the hotels in Gairloch, and would Highly recommend this one,

It makes you wonder just where ''John m'' actually went to, for his 'inedable' (sic) food, !

My partner and I ( and our dog) stayed for 2 nights at The old inn a couple of weeks ago, and found it , all round, just great. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with tips on places to see around. The food , we had mainly the seafood, was just superb, and very reasonably priced......the langoustine started kept us occupied for about 20 mins, there were SO many tails to eat !
The setting of the hotel, is fab, with fabulous, ( and deserted ! ) beaches very near, and lovely woodland and lochside walks close.
Our room was large, with a superking comfy bed, and breakfast was very nice, served with real professionalism. The hotel is undergoing some refurbishment at present, but this did not impinge on our delight of our short stay.we will definately return !

the old inn was filthy, smelly with crunchy carpet , smell from ladies toilet next to reception,room was filthy ind in desperate need of upgrading, food was inedable
the the old inn at gairloch is an insult to highland accomodation

Set by a small river & bridge the Old Inn is well placed with good staff, nice though small rooms, good lounge and bars with an excellent country style restaurant serving a short but well prepared menu based on great local ingredients - especially the seafood. All in all really good, particularly when the beautiful yet relatively remote location is factored in.
