This is really a lovely B&B in beautiful surroundings!!
The rooms are so cosy and its really is a lovely house. corrine was really welcoming and the breakfast was also very nice the next morning.
My wife and I last went on a 'B&B' trip to Scotland in 1976. 4 nights at the Auld Alliance blotted out that (generally poor to bad) experience and replaced it with a special memory of quiet quality, an amazingly energetic and unendingly charming, helpful hostess (whose husband takes superb landscape photographs) and the stunning view across Gairloch from our bedroom. Breakfast is a happy occasion, with or without Corinne's speciality scrambled egg, smoked salmon and croissant. The location is an excellent centre for a number of hill, forest and coastal walks, of which Corinne can provide information and maps. Gairloch itself has some reasonable restaurants (quality and price) and a very good, informative local museum, well worth a visit on a wet morning. It was memorable for all the right reasons.
We had booked for 3 nights here. As we have been to Gairloch before We had a idea where it was. Well sign posted anyway. Corinne met us and showed us around. Our room was to the front of the house,up the stairs and had a stunning view of Gairloch.
The room was big with lovely wood furniture and lovely pictures of Ed Duncans landscape photos. En suite was a nice size lovely shower and some toiletries which was nice.
A tray with the usual coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sugar and milk and lovely biscuits. The room was cosy and the Wi Fi signal was excellent. TV,DVD player also.
The breakfast room was attached to the kitchen so Corinne chatted to us while making our breakfast. In the background she played Runrig music which was wonderful.Breakfast was excellent. One thing I did notice was it was not the tiny cereal boxes but a more bigger portion size.. A lovely selection of Jam's/Honey and a portion of grapes.
Corinne was a lovely hostess and made our stay a joy. We will return and will recommend to our family and friends.
