I stay in this hotel once or twice a month and over time have probably slept in most of the rooms. The room quality is very variable, with some of the older 'standard' rooms in the main part of the building above the bar being especially tired and in need of overhaul - if reviewing only those rooms, this would be a 3-star review. The other standard rooms in a separate, more modern, block are better, but not great. Better again are the executive rooms in another stand-alone block, although the hallway carpets are looking pretty worn. The best of the lot are the executive rooms in the conference centre - they look & feel modern and fresh.
Breakfast is self-serve hot buffet with the usual suspects as far as cereals/juices/pastries are concerned.
Every member of staff, without fail, has been friendly and courteous with a special 'well done' to the lady currently in charge of breakfast.
Probably the worst aspect of the hotel is nothing they can control - many of the rooms face towards the nearby church clocktower which chimes the time throughout the night - I had a colleague who slept for about 5 minutes one night. It's never effected me, but light sleepers should ask for a room facing away from the church.
The location to central Market Harborough couldn't be better and the free carpark is worth £4/day compared to the pay and displays in town, which adds to the already pretty good value for money.
Would I stay here again? Yes - next week in fact ... :-)
