“A relaxed Sunday lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Visited The Three Choirs for Sunday lunch. Table had a good view over the vineyards which looked very pretty from the earlier dusting of snow. Varied selection of starters, mains and dessert. Soup was served piping hot and the plates for the main course were nice and hot. Good portions with a nice choice of accompanying vegetables. The beef in particular was excellent. Service from the young staff was friendly and efficient. Were able to taste a wine before ordering bottle which was also a decent price, i.e. not a huge mark up from the purchase price in the on-site shop. Would like to return in the summer months to sit outside on the terrace.

“Fabulous relaxing weekend.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We received a Buy a gift for an afternoon tea and wine tasting at Three Choirs Vineyard at Newent as a present and decided to make a weekend of it by staying at the hotel. January is perhaps not the best time to visit a vineyard as there is not a lot happening at the actual vineyard and overall it was very quiet - in fact we were the only people staying at the hotel. This was perfect for us. The room was large with a very big and comfortable bed and one of the biggest hotel bathrooms I have seen. Very comfortable and clean. The afternoon tea which we had to book was brilliant. We eat in at the restaurant which was not the cheapest but the food was superb as was the service. The big thick fillet steak melted in your mouth. Obviously being at a vineyard the restaurant stocked all the wines they make and although they were slightly more expensive than if you purchased them at the shop the mark up that one normally expects of wine at a hotel was not apparant. Expect to pay the normal hotel mark up for wine not produced at the vineyard which I personally feel is fair enough. The breakfasts were also very good quality and freshly cooked to order. All the staff we met were very very good, attentive but very discreetly so. Even when the restaurent was busy on staurday evening we did not have to wait too long for anything. If like me and the good lady you like wine then the tour of the vineyard is a must. Very interesting and informative. Acompanied with 4 different wines to test. Overall we had a very relaxing weekend helped in no small way by the location and the staff.

Room Tip: 7 rooms set in a block close to the vineyard and restaurant all overlooking the vineyard. Lodges set...

“Terrific rooms, peaceful location, quality food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

My wife and I stayed here in July after she sponsored a vine for me as a birthday gift. We found the rooms spacious and well-appointed; the king-size bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was large with an excellent shower and plenty of lovely cosmetic products, there were two comfy arm-chairs and the secluded terrace with its table and chairs looked out onto the acres of vines.
The breakfast was plentiful and very filling and the excellent restaurant served terrific food.
Overall a super place to spend a relaxing couple of days in the sun, although I'm not sure how much fun it would have been in the good-old English rain...

“Great as a gift for a quiet retreat.”

Treated my Dad for his retirement to a weekend at Three Choirs. This review is on their behalf. Rooms in the standard rooms were very roomy with views over the vines. On a sunny day the location would be out of this world to sit out on the patio looking out over the rows and rows of ripe grapes. The pickers were harvesting the grapes whilst they were there and they enjoyed watching them from their room.
I booked them into the restaurant for an evening meal. The food was fantastic, but very very expensive (so ideal as a treat only!!). Portion sizes small, but this is what you expect for fine dining.
They enjoyed the wine tour (in a group of about 8 people), the tour was very informative and fun at the same time. Enjoyed the "nature" walks that went for miles around the vines.
Breakfast was very nice - Dad said he could really tell is was good quality bacon and produce served.

Overall, they thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The vineyard is a bit "out the way" so recommended for those who want to "escape" and do something different. Not something they would chose to go to every year, but as a one off "special occasion" it made and ideal present to represent a "landmark" birthday!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on either end of the block (not the lodges) if you want a bit more privacy. Their ar...

We've come back from a wonderful 2 night stay in one of the lodges at Three Choirs. The lodge was gorgeous, luxurious, nestled amongst the vines. Secluded, beautiful views. Dinner in the restaurant was one of the best meals we've ever had. Friendly staff, very accommodating. And a great wine tasting tour.

We'd recommend this place to anyone who wants a complete getaway, in a beautiful place, with lovely food and wine, and a touch of luxury. Loved it.
