We had such a lovely experience at the Alexandra that I would urge anyone out there to give it a try. The location is perfect. We have been in lovely and not so lovely weather conditions - the last time we could only see the lights of boats out on the water. It mattered not one jot. A warm welcome and comfortable surroundings. The only problem was what to order - everything looked appetising! Our party of 4 had a great time and we will be back.

My partner had travelled thousands of air miles to join me for a weekend in Dorset.
Not only did i go down with a flu bug but we then found ourselves in a terrible hotel in Bridport - vastly overpriced and totally over sold!
The weekend was saved when i did a desperate ring round and the receptionist at The Alexandra found us a charming room there - with sea views! When we arrived she gave us a wonderful welcome! The setting as you walk in is classy but calming - never snooty! I love to hear laughter and there was plenty of it - guests were clearly happy and content. Great service, Good food, A wonderful welcome. Impeccably clean, Delightful setting and so well cared for, Chatty bar man, Cheeky and delightful young waiter (don't worry he was also extremely proffessional and good at his job!)

We really LOVED this hotel and everyone who worked in it.

Spectacular views across the garden to the sea from the dining and bed room made all the better for the October sunshine. We had the large garden access room with very comfortable queen sized bed. Service was friendly and attentive. Food local and excellent.
Great access into Lyme Regis and to the seafront.
Will go back there again.

We stayed 2 nights for a weekend break. We booked a superior room and initially thought we had been given a standard room, reasonable size but unusual shape and bathroom small. However, the sea view, very comfortable bed, staff and weather made up for it. No problems with the heating for us, we just turned the radiator up or down. We both found the staff friendly and attentive. Dined in the restaurant one night and could not fault the food or service. Breakfast was perfect! On the Saturday night we did buy fish and chips and sit with the thousands of people on the beach to watch the firework display over the cob. Having completed a 7 mile walk we realized we were too tired to decide where to go for dinner. I would stay there again, had a very comfortable feel. Several of the guests had stayed before.

NB 7 mile Walk Lime Regis to Seaton - beware it is a demanding walk, great if you want exercise, but you get few views of the sea. Bus on a Saturday from Seaton runs every 2 hours.
