“An Excellent B&B in a money hungry town.”

An excellent B&B in every respect except one. For a five star B&B I would have expected somewhere comfortable to sit other than on the bed. Other than that, just ideal. Friendly hosts, good breakfast lots of nice touches.
Padstow is a nice town spoilt by an inability to park anywhere without having to fork out a fortune for parking, and you cant avoid it. The car parks even require a fee if you park after midnight! How miserable is that!

“Welcoming and comfortable”

My husband and I stayed at Callycroft with another couple at the end of October for 2 nights.
From the moment we arrived to the second we left our experience of this smal,l but perfectly formed, B&B was fantastic.
We are fairly new to B&Bs and unsure what to really expect but Callycroft was spotlessy clean, light and modern. We stayed in the Oyster Room which was perfect with a double bed, lounge area and bathroom. The sherry was especially enjoyed by my husband (i'm 7 months pregnant) and the choclate muffins, for me, were much appreicated.
John & Dee are wonderful hosts and the breakfasts out of this world - in fact we didn't need to eat again until dinner.
We would absolutly recommend this B&B - its more like a home from home. In fact we used to have breakfast in our socks we felt so comfortable.
We would love to return. Thank you John & Dee.

“Great B&B!!”

We stayed in the Oyster room (with the excellent separate lounge room) for two nights. The whole place was spotless and the decor was very nice. We wanted for nothing - bathrobes, slippers, smellies, selection of glasses, kettle, iron and ironing board - you name it, they had it!

There were also chocolates and delicious cakes left in the room along with fresh milk and bottled water each day - the small touches that really make a difference.

The location is excellent - just a 6 minute stroll down into the town (possibly a slightly longer walk on the way back as it's uphill - but we needed the walk after the great meal we had in the town!)

The breakfasts were top class. A selection of cereals, yogurts and fruits to start and then a choice of cooked breakfast - really yummy and a perfect start to the day!

John and Dee are really lovely people and are extremely welcoming and friendly, without being overbearing. In some B&B's you get the feeling that you are "living in someone else's home", this is not the case at Cally Croft - you know that John and Dee are there if you need them but you can be left to do your own thing.

Would definitely recommend Cally Croft to anyone visiting Padstow - a gem of a B&B - 5*!

“Excellent B&B”

We always wanted to go to Padstow and sample Rick Stein's Seafood place. We decided my Wife's 40th birthday would be the perfect excuse so made plans to have a week there in October 2011. Having researched B&B's in Padstow we opted for Callycroft and we couldn't have made a better choice. John and Dee are exceptional hosts and the place is spotless. We stayed five nights in the Oyster room complete with its own sitting room which was great for relaxing after a hard days sightseeing. There was fresh milk in the fridge daily that accompanied both tea and fresh coffee, chocolates, home made cake and the decanter of sherry. There was also the bathrobes and slippers provided which was a really nice touch. There was a varied selection of breakfast items and everything was cooked fresh and could only be described as delicious. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would recommend this place to anyone.

“very nice b&b”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

We stayed in "Driftwood" for just one night. The room was very pleasant indeed. It was very comfortable and clean. John and Dee take pains to ensure that guests needs are fully catered for. The additional extras are very much appreciated when one is on holiday and distinguish this b & b from many a rival. The weather was abysmal during our short stay, so the tea and coffee tray was particularly welcome after a thorough soaking from our walk. Breakfast was really nice and served in such a friendly spirit. We feel that hosts of this calibre deserve positive feedback.
