On arrival we were greeting by one of our hosts Mike who guided us through the beautiful surroundings to our room overlooking the wonderful, peaceful gardens. Our room definately had the wow factor clean, light and airey equipped with all the amenities you could require. We enjoyed drinks on the terrace whilst excitedly anticipating dinner we were treated to a feast for the senses Tina even provided my partner with second helpings!.The service was both attentive and relaxed, the hosts made our feel truly at home and after a wonderful nights rest, and superb breakfast we were left wanting more.We sincerely hope to return to see our new friends again.

“Amazing food and Mountjacks too!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

The owners Mike and Tina make you feel at home from when you arrive - literally as you are in their home. The two spacious suites which are attached to the house are spacious, modern and extremely comfortable with all the amenities including the swimming pool. The views are amazing and we were lucky enough to watch a female mountjack and her two babies playing in the garden completely unaware that we were enthralled by their antics.

The food is wonderful. We had a wonderful meal which we are very keen to experience again . Tina is an amazing chef. A lovely weekend.

“Quirky, passionate and deeply satisfying”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2010

We had a birthday meal for 12 which meant no other guests. None of us had been before or even heard about it and I'd only come across this apparent "fish restaurant of the year" in deepest Norfolk on the internet. We needn't have worried as the welcome, atmosphere and food were very special. It was rather like having the ultimate donner party but without the fuss and far finer food. The meal was unusual and carefuly thought out, the wine reasonably priced and good and the atmosphere difficult to describe! We stayed and had a late Cal-Mex breakfast which I can highly recommend. Overall excellent but not your usual restaurant and all the better for being different

“What an experience. Peace and tranquility topped off with delicous food and wonderful service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 May 2010

Mike and Tina make this an experience to remember and definately to repeat. Great attention to detail and fabulous food. The rooms are charming and more than adequate for a nights stay but it is in the main house with Tina cooking that the experience comes alive. Mike is most charming as' front of house ' and also rustles up a damn good breakfast! WE WILL RETURN.

“Amazing food, company and wonderful peaceful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 April 2010

This is our fourth visit in the last six years and Tina and Mike Pemberton never fail to provide wonderful food, service and ambiance. We stayed over on this occasion to ensure a lovely lie in (two small children would otherwise interrupt!) and to experience the Cal-Mex breakfast again which is always a refreshing change to standard restaurant breakfasts. Perhaps it is also the peaceful setting and the garden/pool view from the conservatory.

Our meal was fantastic as always - Chinese five spice sesame coated king scallops to start (cannot wait for the next three courses!), spinach and sweet potato soup with cumin and lemon, followed by the most amazing teppannyaki monkfish medallions on rainbow noodles with a salad of mixed leaves with a wasabi and honey dressing. Accompanied by stir fried asparagus and shitake mushrooms in tamari and sake. The dessert was bitter choc mocha torted with raspberries and organic vanilla ice cream. All food absolutely heavenly - the seasoning perfect and the flavour combinations just divine.

If its amazing fish/seasfood you would like with great hosts in a relaxed setting - this is definately the place. Wines great too!
