I drove up from Kent to me meet my daughter who is studying in the north east. She had been poorly for some time and desperately in need of r & r. We had booked in for 2 days and got a good b & b rate. The Hotel is most attractive, with attentive and kind staff. Our room was lovely overlooking the gardens, plenty of space and huge bathroom. A few niggles, TV although top quality rather dated in design & shape with an impossible to use remote - we had to unplug TV from the wall to turn it off. The lighting system was pretty tricky too. Beds comfortable with nice linen, quality toiletries in the bathroom and fresh fruit and water a nice touch. The spa is fabulous and you can walk though the hotel from your room to the spa. Very relaxing and temperatures good throughout (I often find some areas are either too hot or cold to be comfortable) we both had some divine treatments, massage and facials various - not cheap but a well executed experience with lovely results. Food choices a bit limited and hotel restaurant pricey we chose to stay in our robes and had room service !
