I checked into this hotel yesterday and cannot believe I stayed at the same hotel as the other reviewers below who gave this 4 stars.

My room was the dirtiest room I have ever stayed in and that was after having already asked to be changed once. I stay at different hotels for about 90 nights each year and if I didn't have jet lag there is no way I wud stay here. We tried this hotel as an alternative to travelodge who's rooms tend to vary in cleanliness from one hotel to the next, but I can firmly say that I will never choose a days inn over a travelodge again.

Good points: bed comfy & sheets look clean (I'm hoping the smell is the detergent they use or just the general smell of the room), tv good, free wifi, check inn quick.

Bad points: smelly room, toilet not attached to floor, toilet still had poo from last person in, mirror dirty, carpet and bathroom floor REALLY dirty, puddle of water near toilet, thick dust in room along wall rail, hairdryer and wall covered in tea/ coffee stains, coffee table dirty. Has anyone ever cleaned this room? Whole room grubby. What is up with the pink duvet covers?

Where are management? Do they never spot check the place? Or are they not giving the cleaners enough time to clean? I don't care how cheap a room is, I expect it to be clean and not to smell.

We checked out this morning about 2am to travel home. Receptionist just stared and ignored us.

If clean is not ur thing, then by all means stay here, otherwise keep clear.

I won't be back, it's a perfectly ordinary adequate 2 star hotel, and this is my third stay. Tonight I have been refused loyalty points, apparently for using the wrong booking engine... The hotel has given me Wyndham points for my last 2 stays booked through the same http://www.days-inn-membury.co.uk/home site.

Well if the hotel won't be loyal to me I'll vote with my feet - plenty of this type of hotels on the A34/M4 so bye bye Membury, and if your a high volume hotel user who expects something in return for your custom, this just isn't any place you'll be welcomed.

Stayed here for 14 nights while working on a contract in Newbury (16 miles), and coinciding with one of the coldest spells of weather for a decade. Large room was clean, very warm (while it was minus-wotsit outside) with free wifi, telly with 30 channels, desk for working and very comfortable bed, spotless bathroom. Staff outstandingly helpful and friendly especially as there were three inches of snow outside. Parking in main car-park was a long walk (see 'Gerne wieder' below - although as a blue badge holder I did get to use a space closer to the door) and there's no catering as the Welcome Break is next door, but they only serve 'motorway food'. I shopped at a supermarket in Newbury and picnicked in the room. Overall fantastic vale for money at £35 a night.

Stayed here en route from London to Bristol one night. Parking in the service stattion, well lit and safe. Easy check in. Hotel away from motorway so nice and quiet. Had a double room with a sofa bed which was nice to watch the TV on. All the amentiies you need in the room, including free wifi which. Bathroom clean, but slightly dated. Shower powerrful and warm. Did not go for the £5 "continental" breakfast, but you can grab breakfast in the service station which is 2 mins walk away. At £35 for the night perfect for what I needed and at the good price.
